It's about time to add Coil story mode, isn't it ?

What happened to the days when people would rise up to a challenge instead of asking for a nerf to the content? The average item level of your average player is already higher than the maximum item level obtainable at the time that Turn 5 was current on top of a 20% Echo buff. One-shot mechanics in this game are an absolute joke as well. The only mechanics like that on Turn 5 are Twisters and having the Dreadknight reach you. If you are incapable of holding a movement key for a couple of seconds and not running into anyone else, you have bigger issues. If your groups are incapable of bursting down a single add in the 10 seconds it takes to get to you, you need to seek out better players.

I understand that everyone has different circumstances as to why they may not be able to complete content as quickly as others, whether it be time constraints, internet connections, or anything else, but I can't say I agree with a "story mode" for content that is already laughably easy. The story, along with the gear and sense of accomplishment, should serve as an incentive to get in there and try to complete the content. Asking for developers to put in a bypass screams "laziness" to me.

There's a guy named "Aieron" who plays League of Legends who is disabled and has to hit keys by holding a pen with his mouth. If he can get to Gold 5, I'm pretty sure there isn't a single reason (Barring aforementioned internet problems) people can't clear Turn 5 with an echo buff.

- Takes a very long time to complete <- this is why this content works, even though there is no incentive to complete it more than once.
- Gives the same loot as normal version
- Gives a title (the only reason to do this, beside having fun of course)

Savage Coil is currently a waste of development time because there is no reason to go in. More work for same reward. Path of least resistance.

When I read this, I told them that and they laughed at me. It's quite literally the first time anyone has ever claimed the story was a reward. There are quite a few people who skip the cutscenes after clearing Coil because that isn't even on their mind when doing the fights.

I hope that at some point SE will release the number of players having defeated each fight. As for T5, it's hard for me to believe not that many people would have beaten it by now. I just checked the numbers for my own LS and out of 30 currently active members only 4 haven't beaten it (that I know of). Would like to hear corresponding numbers for other FC/LS if anyone wants to bother, as the estimates of player % who have beaten it have been thrown around here.

I'm pretty sure 2 out of 3 of my linkshells have 100% T5 completion rate.

that's because the best players tend to gather together. Path of least resistance you said. Gather the best around not to ever bother about the skill of the people you may meet.

I'm completely serious. It has less to do with skill and more to do with perseverance. The fact of the matter is that the story you want to experience is locked behind content that has already had both developer-implemented nerfs (Echo buff) and natural nerfs (increases in strength of gear). The amount of effort required is ridiculously minuscule compared to what it used to require. If people are not willing to put in effort, they don't get rewards.

I didn't follow him too long, but he was solo queueing a bit when he started out. Maybe he had duo partners when he got more popular, since he became quite the celebrity over Reddit when he began streaming on Twitch.tv
