New Gun Class/job

Other than him being a "Boss" I don't recall him having particularly high HP or evasion. He was still just like Mustadio with long range damage and crippling. Actually after looking at Barich's page, it doesn't list any of his stats. The states you gave are for Mustadio NOT Barich. ALL of the main character's have decent evasion rates. Heck Orlandeau has 20% as well as Cloud for instance.
Mustadio's only "Defensive" ability is to keep his gear from being broken... so....

Again I am only speculating on what a machinist could be in FF14 based on this quote:

The link from that previous post is for the machinist job. It has both Mastadio and Barich listed as playing the class and continues to list several of the skills available. 1 to Mustadio and 3 to Barich. I felt it was safe to conclude the HP being listed as high applied to both as well. I will concede that 18% evade is not high for the tactics game. I wish feather foot was 18%.

Mustadio's page shows he isn't as defense oriented as Barich but he does have access to SoulBind.

Also machinists Cid from FF4 and Edgar from FF6 are high Def and phys stat focused. However they both focus more on melee weapons, Cid could use Bows but the two-hand Hammer was his tool of choice. Both could use shields.

With the gun models already in game being one handed could you see them using a shield in the off hand? Duel wield for DPS? What do you think if they go with the oft suggested Chemist to fill the healer role, Potion gun?
