New Gun Class/job

Several letters / months back it was all talk about a gunner class. All of a sudden the mention of the ninja class and they stopped talking about the gunner class that was going to be released.

I thought there was a previous mention that it would be released with another job... my presumptions was with rogue/ninja. It just seems all information, hints or talk about this has suddenly ceased.

From what I understand, back in the beginning of 2.0 Yoshi repeatedly mentioned the fact that Musketeer has been highly anticipated by the players.

So, I expect that we will either never, ever see it, or the implementation of it will be worse than that of housing.

At present there are no more jobs planned till after the expansion. Further, while musketeer has been mentioned many times it's also been in the same thought as, "...not like you expect." Never has there been a date given as to when we can expect musketeer, either. Right now all we can do is wait for an announcement, anything else is theory-crafting.

He mentioned Musketeer because it was promised since 2010 and Thief (now Rogue) because it is a very classic FF class

It has already been confirmed that we would get Ninja in 2.4 and then get a new tank and healer in the expansion, one of which would be the gun job.

but housing was implemented just fine. so we will get a gun class that will be just fine

just because you don't like something doesn't make it actually bad.

There is already a "gun class guild" in the game. It shares the same building with the Marauder guild in the Coral Tower of Upper Limsa Lominsa. Has been there from 1.0 iirc.

Inside you will find a gun toting guild leader and a bunch of npcs practicing with their guns in the main area and the target practice area of the basement.

Also Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn the leader of the city state wields guns as well.

See while the Machinist uses guns, its neither a heal nor tank role (which apparently was confirmed, I had no idea?).

I honestly don't see how a gun -tank class will work in general to be frank.
