Agree, I was wondering that too. If everyone can have a house a lot more people would sink gil into decorations for the house...If it's supposed to be a Gil sink, wouldn't it make more sense to make it more accessible? Like the glamour system being gated behind level 50. If you could glamour from the start, wouldn't that mean more people spending money? Especially in lower levels, you level so fast and outgrow your armor that in order to maintain glamours you would constantly be buying glamour prisms. The stuff that's all stupidly gated and labeled as Gil sinks would pull more money if it was accessible to 100% of people playing instead of whatever percentage it actually is due to being gated.
Agree he should have made housing accessible and then put the gilsink afterwards.
Only by looking at ancient MMOs: make housing accessible but put weekly maintenance fees. SWG did this. Heck even FF11 did this to an extent where you had to pay currency for your mog locker.
Well now there proof that people are only buying up these plots to sell them for twice the price - at the moment there is two listings in PF on Hyperion.
*Edit- I checked the 2nd one and it a FC selling their house and is at least a bit more reasonable then this one I posted. They are only selling it for 6mil.

"Everyone has something they hold dear, something they never want to lose. That's why they pretend. That's why they hide the truth. And that's why they lie."
Great... thanks Gil-PWell now there proof that people are only buying up these plots to sell them for twice the price - at the moment there is two listings in PF on Hyperion.

His responses are really insensitive.
Unlike him, some of us don't use this game as a job.
People have kids, school, work, their love life and all other sorts of stuff to deal with.
Not many are willing to sacrifice that time. I won't sit here for hours on end on this game everyday
and I'm not lazy but doing the same stuff over and over does wear thin, so you'll get burnt out.
Not to mention, after buying a house, you need to buy furnishings. People also spend Gil on other things too, like melding
and stuff.
I think people here just want a small house.
Because realistically, getting a M or L will take years because in other words, there ARE enough
houses...but the prices for the other two, people do not care for.
I wonder if he knows how to make a fluff content actually fluff, and not a friggin' quest for your life.

I actually like his response here. Still not happy that we didn't get wards for personal housing only, but I don't mind a house being an achievement you work for.
I wonder if personal large house would be categorized as a "gil buyer achievement".

I agree that buying recent plots/houses then selling them is kinda underhanded. But the screen you posted is prob just a person/small FC trying to sell their house because they either don't want it anymore, want a bigger house or leaving the game. My reasoning is due to the fact that it is on Ward 1, which came out ages ago.Well now there proof that people are only buying up these plots to sell them for twice the price - at the moment there is two listings in PF on Hyperion.

But yea, there are honest and dishonest plot sellers.
Correct me if i am wrong, and i dont really have a source on my hand, but i am pretty sure that it was intendet from the start that ppl will be able to sell their plots on other players to their conditions. In some interview or some live letter/producer Lette Yoshi stated that, it was pretty long time ago though. Im not saying its good this way but it seems to be planned from the beginning
I don't get these angry stabs at people who can afford housing. Jealousy making people lash out, maybe?
5mil(which is the cost of a small plot on my server) is nothing if you're an active Builder of the Realm and/or Provider of the Realm. I bet you anything every single house in my ward was legitimately earned.
