    Just want to make sure about this before I continue subscribing to FFXIV past the first expansion. I cannot and will not do Turn 5 if it stays as hard as it is now.

    The Binding Coil of Bahamut overall is seen as a 'seperate' raid.

    You won't need to complete ANY turns of BCoB in-order to do new expansion raid content (as far as we've been told, they haven't change their minds on this). As per the games approach on making old content redundant.

    EDIT:

    I didn't read your whole post.

    If you can't beat Turn 5, you're going to have huge problems with any new raid content being added.
    Turn 5 is VERY easy compared to the The Second Coil of Bahamut.

    Turn 5 was one of the development teams first attempts at making an end-game raid boss-fight and that's the NERFED version of the original fight. I'm not talking Turn 5 twisters patch. I'm talking the original development teams

    Or if that answer doesn't suit then consider the following;

    But they DID just release an easy-mode Coil for you, specifically.

    - Go to www.youtube.com
    - Type into the search bar: "FFXIV Turn 5 kill BLM perspective w/cutscenes"
    - Get an old mouse/keyboard or controller and make sure that they are disconnected from your computer or playstation
    - Hit "Play" and "Full-screen"
    - Go ahead and press the buttons as you normally would, the game will correct your errors for you.

    You expected the learn the timing/mechanics and then beat the final boss-fight of the first set of raids, in three tries?

    /laugh

    I don't recommend raiding until you have the patience to learn and adjust to the mechanics
