It would be cool if Pacify was more useful. I only tank for Trial roulettes and I think it's really fun when I'm OT and I run in front of Ifrit right before Eruptions, hit Bulwark, eat a claw swipe, and Pacify him before it lands.

But yea it would be nice to see it become more of a risk/reward mechanic or alternate combo or something to spice up PLD's playstyle.

Wait... since when was Pacification weak? Does anyone here actually know how it works?

First up, Pacification has a 6 second timer by default. That's far longer than most enemy skill times. Secondly, while it doesn't interrupt them, it DOES prevent the skill from firing at the end of the cast so it still saves you from needing to dodge an attack. Sure, over time the pacification time will decrease, but that just means it's up to you to time your skills better.

I personally use it all the time. In parties, on bosses, in Fates. Anyone who thinks it's a useless skill really needs to take a second glance.

Just further proof honestly they need to re-evaluate the debuff mechanics in this game.

None of those abilities could pacify.
I may be confusing some things but I remember a tank having a pacify that was very useful on Ifrit. Looking back I think it might have been WAR. I'll Admit I'm wrong here

Pacification is useful when it's actually able to land on something. Which it doesn't on anything harder than Ifrit HM.

No, Gladiators were pacifying Ifrit for a short time. I posted it last page:
    Riot Blade + Contagion

It even stopped things like Hellfire. Of course, so did Wrist Flick.

Pacification is strong. So strong that they make it not work on anything past Ifrit in full party content. I don't think it really matters how strong a skill is on FATEs or even in four man dungeons if it's useless in full party stuff.

Were those abilities before the class changes? I started playing May 23rd when Amazon had the sale going, all my knowledge of 1.0 comes from the 1.20-1.23 era ( was waiting for PS3 the whole time. Very glad I didn't)

Yes, those are prior to jobs and the class rebalance.
