There's certainly challenge soloing them. One of the few instances in this game where I had to stay on my toes and pay attention, far more fun than "Wait > spam enmity skills > dead". As for no benefit to killing them without waiting? For you, maybe, but actually enjoying the content is a huge benefit in my opinion. The "wait for the whole server" mentality completely sucks the enjoyment and life out of Hunts, IMO.

At this point I kind of wish they'd just make them force popped, with pop items purchased with GC Seals. It's still technically open world content, you can go around shouting for anyone with a pop item.

I am really dreading open world Primals and FC summoning at this point. Seeing what Hunts are like, I can only imagine Primals will be worse...

Most of you are missing the point about waiting. People find a mob, call it out, and wait a few minutes. Thats how it should work. Plenty of people are legitimately rushing to get there and are not afk or lazy moochers. The problem is when the majority are willing to wait and then a jack ass comes out of nowhere and pulls, knowing full well others agreed to wait.

But you're a minority in that regard. I'm sorry but one person's enjoyment of the game isn't as important as 100 others. Don't get me wrong, I like hunts a lot more at 5 the morning when there's hardly even 1 full group doing them, then the concept of hunts make a lot more sense. However we have to deal with what we've got - and you need to consider how many people's enjoyment of the game YOU'RE affecting when you pull so quickly.

P.S.: Soloing A ranks isn't really anything special, lol. Cute though.

Like I said, I'm only pulling when nobody is around, I'm not seeing a group of players waiting and then pulling. At best people show up at ~20%, which honestly perplexes me. Perhaps their intention is to reset it? I don't know, if someone told me an A Rank was up and half dead, I wouldn't bother running to it if I was on the other side of the fence.

Given that I'm told there are usually several A Ranks ready to spawn at any one time, how is my soloing actually ruining any enjoyment? People miss one A Rank out of the dozens that spawn daily, to people actively camping in that way I doubt the 50 Seals are that important, to me however, well, I already explained how long it's going to take me to get some freaking vanity gear...

I don't think what I'm doing is perfectly fine, however. I think the system needs a massive overhaul to accommodate either play style. Until that happens though, if I see an A Rank and nobody is around, I'll start soloing it. I should also point out that that is a VERY rare occurrence; as in, it's hardly happened half a dozen times since the contents release.

It's certainly a lot more fun than soloing maps. Not saying it's a massive challenge, just that compared to the rest of the game it's pretty much the best I can hope for. Honestly, I got enough of a lag educed zerg rush for Seals back in 1,x with the Atomos event...

Ultimately this is the problem with open world content; different people have different opinions, neither side is "wrong" for wanting to enjoy the content their way. This why developers should put some serious thought into the content, rather than rushing it out to appease a bunch of XI die hards. So few Hunt targets and such high rewards, that was a massive mistake on the developers side. Their "fix" only really compounded the problem by taking B Ranks out of the system almost entirely.

You seem to be missing the point. Hunts are as fast as they are to do because the server goes out on a limb to assist one another. What do you think would happen to your rate of acquiring allied seals if everyone went full mercenary? They'd be forced to redesign the entire hunt system because getting 750 seals like we can do right now would become wishful thinking. Antagonist hunt parties would be trying to screw you over at every turn. They'd become laughably ineffective as a means of progression.

You seem to be missing my point. I'm saying Hunts should allow the incorporation of either play style. Mark Bills are a fine way to do that, but SE completely f*cked that up; you're getting 750 Seals a day? "Casuals" are getting 274 a week. That's a fairly substantial disparity.

I'm not saying everyone should kill Hunts whenever they find them, I'm saying there should be a middle ground. Currently if you don't partake in the massive zerg rush (which some console players simply can't, I'll remind you) you're effectively punished unless you intend to solely get i90 out of it. Gods help you if you want that vanity gear.

People who loath the rush but want the gear are either going to cave in and let Hunts become another soulless piece of content, or they're going to pull the occasional A Rank solo (and again, the chances of people actually pulling that off are very slim). That or they'll just give up, either way the content needs an adjustment.

They wouldn't have to redesign a damn thing. It's probably more likely they wanted it to be like that.

On my server, there is an LS that people can drop in and out of when they join a hunt party where all members report spawns as they happen. It's easy enough to get into, and I don't have an issue handling the zerg. I'm certainly not a "casual" player when it comes to gaming, but I typically get between 200 to 300 seals a week depending on how much I feel like doing hunts. A hardcore player is someone who invests a sizeable chunk of his time gaming. It does not refer specifically to a single game. Personally, anyone getting 700 seals a week is someone I pity greatly because that is NOT a fun way to spend your time.

Also, you didn't read my post. The OP was suggesting that everyone just kill A ranks without announcing their locations, at which point the entire hunt system would crumble because its a challenge built on social networking.

Not really. It was meant to get people to socially network with one another to find the hunts. The most effective means of doing that is working in a large LS collectively to locate and find them.

Actually, I think the OP's post was talking about a single group of players killing mobs without announcing them. Given SE's surprise at the number of players hunting immediately after the content came out, I think their intention was that you would get a light/full party and you'd run around until you came across something, then kill it rather than calling for the horde.
