So I'm stuck in a loop from Regal Purple - Dalamud Red. Any suggestions on how to break out and get to Rolanberry Red?

My log so far.

According to this chart:

Dalamud Red --> Rolanberry Red requires O'ghomoro Berries.

Dalamud Red (127, 31, 31)
Rolanberry Red (95,41,47)

O'ghomoro Berries (-5, -5, 5) so feed it the berries until it gives you the "beginning to grow new feathers" message. You only want to see this message once to indicate a color change.

Regal Purple --> Rolanberry Red requires Apples. According to the simulator, you want to feed it about 5 apples.

Regal Purple (103, 55, 87)
Rolanberry Red (95,41,47)

Apple (5,-5,-5) so same thing with the berries, you want to give it the apples for the "beginning to grow new feathers" message. You want to see this message twice.

Using the chococ color simulator

What is that simulator?

I've been trying to feed my Chocobo all kind of fruits all week only to switch between Pumpkin Orange, Sunset Orange and Blood Red over and over... I'm starting to think I may have to feed it multiple fruits at once.

So I followed the steps to get Abyssal Blue from the default Desert Yellow, and instead landed on Plum Purple.

Fed him 3 plums, ended with Slate Gray.
Fed him 2 Berries, went back to Plum Purple.
Fed him 3 more berries, turned Ceruleum Blue.
Fed him 2 more berries, now I'm GLOOM Purple.

Fed him 2 more berries, and he's changing again. According to the chart, I should finally get Abyssal Blue. We'll see.

I have been stuck in the same loop, Royal blue/Regal Purple. I decided to feed 1 more berries after getting the growing feathers message and see if that got me from Regal purple back to Royal Blue, and it did, so I am going to try feeding 2 apples and see if it gets me to Rolanberry Red. I will keep checking to see your results. If the 2 apples don't work, and you are able to move forward, I will probably try to get back to Royal Blue and feed a pear like you did. If neither of these work, I may change my chocobo back to it's original color and start over.

After getting my chocobo back to Royal Blue again, fed it apples until it said growing feathers, then I gave it another apple. I was hoping that would move it on to Rolanberry Red, but it just went back to Regal Purple, so I gave it a lemon and I am starting all over again.

I should be following behind you now for the most part. Trying to find Wine Red myself. I had to eat a lemon and start over again to get out of the loop.

Probably going to do Berries on Russet Brown. Whatever that lands me on, I'll probably fed apples and hope for Wine Red.

Started at Russet Brown, fed it 1x Apple and got Chocolate Brown

That does not work, and you cannot depend on the chart when you get stuck in a loop. I was just in this loop, and finally just fed a lemon to get out.

Inside this loop "Dalamud Red --> Rolanberry Red requires O'ghomoro Berries. " does NOT work. Also "Regal Purple --> Rolanberry Red requires Apples", Neither Apples or Pineapple work.

Don't bring the simulator in here. It wasn't 5 apples. It was 1 Apple or 2 pineapple to get the new feather message, and they dump you back to Dalamud and Blood respectively, not Rolanberry.

Until someone figures out SE's RNG with this, there is absolutely no point to a simulator/calculator. It's no better than telling someone to fed the same number of different fruit and expect them to get the same color. Most of the time, it's not going to work.

I'm taking the gathered data and moving to my next step - Chocobo Color Map. It's not complete, but I'm getting there. I'm not sure how the google draw thing works with sharing but you are welcome to copy it to your own drive to play with it. Initially I think it looks small, but you have to zoom in for full size.

So this has probably been addressed, but it feels to me as though the "only the first feather proc" counts deal is false. I feel as though every fruit counts, but the message is only indicative that the fruit you just fed puts the RGB at a value that will be a different color from what your chocobo is. Which is why it is possible to get the "feather proc" message, and then not get it on some subsequent feed. Sometimes it takes a good deal of fruit because there are many RGB values that are not valid as colors, so it might take a while until you get to a valid one.
