    Dark matter will always be dark matter, but you have thousands of combination of repair materials which causes both a annoyance to decide and to balance (what constitutes as a proper priced repair material for X item as oppose to Y item)

    More closer to the problem is trying to implement the system. Dark matter seems to be a convenient and quick hack/patch to the existing repair system. Just replace all "ID"s to dark matter "ID"s. If you try to program to accept both...well that's a lot more effort.

    It's an overnight job as oppose to a week long job so to say.
    no all i was talking about was allowing the crafters that have repair mats that, at this point, has no other items they make to continue using them for a brief time. after that time or the materials were eliminated then they would move to the dark materia full time. the change in the long term is a good thing and that i like as i won't always carry 30+ repair materials on me, but the wasted materials would have use until they are out of them. that was all i was asking not for it to stay that way forever.

    just allow them to both be used until say 1.19 or 1.20 would be plenty of time for not only crafters to use their mats, but for them to have time to make adjustments needed with the new system put in place.

    i thought it was a reasonable solution.

    i see what you mean by programming them to use both, but you would still only be programming it once as the items in game now are already programmed for one way and you would just be adding another option to what is already in place.
