A quick fix would be simple. Have sand/oil only drop from Rank S and add sand/oil to EX Trials.

Only positive thing that would accomplish is making ex's worth doing again. That would actually ruin the hunt at this point, and as much as I personally don't like it, I can see the appeal of open world. Plus they would have to code out the blood marked logs, and code in a chance to get a sand/oil, which means adding an rng component to S rank mobs, which is more complicated than it sounds, and definitely more work than SE wants to put into it.
I said it once; I'll say it again. This is lazy developing at work.
I guess ruined is a point of view. I just saw a group of 40 attack a monster balanced for a Full Party. To me that's broken. I like open world content and I like the concept of hunts. What I don't like is getting /blist from the server because I don't feel that 40 people should kill content that was original designed to be solo'ed (B Ranks). When hunts first launched I loved just running into the wild, finding a B or A Rank, putting out a quick /sh and killing it with a small group in the zone much like FATEs. The only fun now is getting the reward not the content, rule number 2.
As far as development I'm a little disappointed in the perceived lack of interest in this issue. Are they really happy with how Hunt turned out? No plans to either nerf it or balance it so hunts don't die in 30 seconds. Devs, hunts aren't fun so you're doing it wrong.

I completly agree with you, but:
You have to consider when pulling a B rank Monster with just 4 players (or soloing) you choose the destiny for all other players who may hardly seeking for exact this one! They have to wait how long?
3h for B rank may not be much, but then we have A rank and S rank. That is the main source of frustration about the blacklisting and waiting in community...
Indeed the current hunting have many more issues SE have to address, but it is really annoying if the server does not wait, even when i fully agree with you and say it is designed for a small group or soloing...
One Solution i came up is to drastically increase spawn time, so the roads are dangerous and to make the hunts like a "Bingo-Book" where you hunt and get a mark if successfully killed... SE have to realize that it will not fix itself with time, even after higher ilvl in 2.4+

But isn't that the point of Hunting? You find the NM, kill it, and get the reward? What the community wants is FATEs without actually saying the word. You have people using 3rd party hacks to show spawns on map and suggestion for HP% based the group size that beat it last.I completly agree with you, but:

Yes, but you can not do it with current gamedesign, waiting a week 24/7 for a 3h respawn monster is just bad gamedesign! But isn't that the point of Hunting? Not that you dont see it, but to do enough damage you need to have it respawn direct next to you... or you will be too late because of the behavior to not wait for others.
