I agree, I noticed if you don't slow your dps you will cause a phase to happen.most of all it is because the game is not very well-designed. for example, you can see this when you get weird phase-transitions from dpsing too much (either from echo, or because you have good dps) that can lead to not salvageable situations. it's just one of those things that stand out. the game is still comparatively young, but after a year they should start getting a grip. instead they threw out the most unbalanced thing yet and called it a day.
Leveling? DF doesn't work, FATE doesn't work... better face grind mobs like a bot!
Gear? Are you under iL90? Hunt!
Are you still under iL90? Hunt more!
Are you under il100? You guessed it; Hunt more!
Need a weapon? Hunt - oh and get a carry in Sycrus!
Want more iL? Hunts and Sycrus!

I hate how Hunt is so unbalance that it make everything obsolete. You can get to i110 and and tons of Myth and Soldiery without doing any of the game Contents. Dungeon, Novus Weapon Grind, Ex Primals, Roulette, Coil, Coil 2, ST, etc.
It just kill every Game Contents in ONE PATCH!
Why bother doing anything else that take way too long with a lockout? Just log on, join Party Finder and Hunt Hunt Hunt. Don't even bother putting Party Finder for anything else because once someone announce a Hunt location, they will drop it right away. I see more and more people are taking the easy route now and doing Hunt now and nothing else. I see more and more Party Finder for Hunt everyday and nothing more. Sure it help make the game more lively and seam like the game is doing well because you see people running out in Open World, but the reality is all other content will phrase out and died soon because of how over power Hunt is.

Im sorry that ppl would rather do open world content instead of instances all the time.. And if SE would have listened to the fan base in the beginning when we said we wanted more open world content maybe hunts wouldnt be as crowded as they are if SE added more open world content. But SE continued to cater to the WoW player with DF stuff... SE get a clue add more OPEN WORLD content. Cater to the original FF fans first and WoW/other MMO fans second!
Yes im fine with hunts but i'd rather content sorta like besieged.. Massive Battle! And maybe make killing mobs in open world a viable option to lvl in pt(Not FATES/Dungeons. even though them ways are fine sometimes.)
And getting better gear isn't always what ppl want.. i know plenty of ppl that do hunts because its OPEN WORLD and fun.. That is also the reason i have been doing it.

The problem with it now is that it need to be Balance. This is an MMO, there should be choice. Some actually like grind, some like doing Dungeon, Ex Primals, etc. But now there is no reason to do anything else beside Hunt because Hunt give everything with very little effort to get everything.
When they said the World is now dangerous because of the NM. I was excited for it because I thought it will be NM like in 1.0. It was a big let down when it was just a zerge fest with B Rank died in 10 seconds and A Rank died in 20 seconds and S Rank in 30 Seconds.

After a 35 minute wait in Darkhold yesterday the tank left right before the end boss with "S rank up on my server" we then stood for 15 minutes until a party member managed to get an FC buddy to come finish it. It's easy to get one or two sands a hunting session if you can get into an organised group. Oil and sands need to be removed from the rewards or a cap placed on how many logs you can purchase per week in line with caps on other game content. At this point I don't think removing the caps on other content will help much Hunts are just too easy.



S rank down in less than 1 minute!
Not worth to leave dungeon...
It's so silly when someone leaves a dungeon to fight Odin or an elite mark. By the time they arrive, the thing will be dead and now they got a 30 minute time out.



A quick fix would be simple. Have sand/oil only drop from Rank S and add sand/oil to EX Trials.
Only positive thing that would accomplish is making ex's worth doing again. That would actually ruin the hunt at this point, and as much as I personally don't like it, I can see the appeal of open world. Plus they would have to code out the blood marked logs, and code in a chance to get a sand/oil, which means adding an rng component to S rank mobs, which is more complicated than it sounds, and definitely more work than SE wants to put into it.
I said it once; I'll say it again. This is lazy developing at work.
