How many times should we put up with it? Are MMO's only for people who liked getting jerked by the chain? There comes a time when you just have to say "No".
Add me to the list.
SE needed to put a daily and weekly cap on Allied seals, but they didn't. It's far too late now.

Yeah, too much damage done. I don't think it can be corrected at this point. I'm really disappointed because I've invested so much into this game.
I don't mind the hunts much. They aren't all that interesting and the rewards aren't tantalizing enough for me to do something very boring for an extended period of time. I usually kill a B rank here or there and have joined 2 hunting parties. Sitting on like 430 seals I think. To me the problem is the content is most rewarding when you and everyone else resolves to turn every mark into a seal/ tome piñata. The 'include absolutely everyone' mentality trivializes not only any difficulty this content may have had, but also the excitement of finding a mark! Who needs to find a mark themselves? Your party/LS will tell you when something is up and hold the mob until you and everyone else gets there. Hit it 5 times and go to the next one.
I think I can see SE's intention, but I'm not really sure. Certainly it's odd to say that the problem is that everyone is trying to give everyone else the max rewards, but it is kind of a problem. It means that the horde is large enough that finding a mark yourself (when not actively hunting) is meaningless. You can't participate (and get decent rewards) unless you try to discretely solo. Calling for assistance usually just summons full parties to your location who will decimate your find and leave you with minimum credit (sorry, full).
I was so excited for the hunt system (thinking of how much I liked it in FFXII), but this is just annoying. When it was announced I assumed it would be more inspired than simply carrying the same name. I would have liked a system where you got a bill to hunt a specific mob which would then be visible to you because you had that bill (any other marks would not be visible and hunters with other bills couldn't see your mark -- everything would respawn quickly as well). Party members could see each other's marks, sure, but it would essentially play out like treasure hunting with an unlimited supply of maps (and much lower rewards), just have to go get a new bill. There'd be plenty of room for abuse there as well, but at least with a max 8 person party the content could be challenging and/ or fun. No point wishing for what might have been I suppose.
Holy sht. Another Thread that I go off for 1 day and it becomes a Hot Topic >_>
Least all the Discussion is worth note taking.
At this point the only fix to Hunts that I expect is 2.4 introducing higher iLvl gear while hunt rewards remain the same.
As for DF problems... yeah, I can easily envision problems in getting people to do BCoB and pretty much all the older Primals, but I don't think the fault for that lies entirely with Hunts but mostly with outdated gear. We've had what? Over 4 months of Soldiery gear now? Most people are already on i100 stuff.
Lets hope that 2.4 fixes these excessive rewards on Hunts and that SE finds a good way to encourage people to do the older dungeons again.
You consider atmas and especially echo buffs as SE "jerking us by the chain"?
The reason why the atma problem is really a non-problem is because you can get equivalent weapons "easily" (much less time put in at least) from elsewhere. Relics are supposed to be for people that want something to grind for.
People that complain about the echo buff are just being stupid. Most of them are pissed that content that they no longer do has been made easier for the majority of the playerbase, aka, they're just being selfish. Then there's the smaller faction that is annoyed that they can't experience the original difficulty of the content anymore, but given that when BCoB was released people were doing it with i70 stuff and now getting a mix of i90/i100 stuff is easy to get, they never really had a chance to experience the original difficulty, echo or not.

Housing prices have been fixed for a while now (or are you going to keep grinding that axe till hell freezes over?).
The "fixes" to the hunt are mostly the playerbase's fault for expecting more than what SE had announced. They did exactly what they said they would do. Do I want further fixes? Hell yeah I do, I actually want a complete overhaul of the system, but from SE's point of view they just see hunts as being very popular so they don't want to nerf them.
And yes, I do think that crafting materials are a pain in the ass to obtain now if you want to upgrade your DoH/DoL main hand, but this one you can blame on all the people whining on the forums about how the "economy sucked" and that "everyone can craft everything so nothing sells". If crafting materials are ruined now you have these whiners to thank for it.

Hunts are the single worst piece of content ever implemented in this game, not even 2.0 FATEs were this bad... And what makes them even worse is that SE is doing absolutely NOTHING in order to fix them.

Already suspended mine until the next content update. I can't get a group for Coil or the Extreme primals since hunts were introduced, and there's little left to do but accumulate sold, which we know will rain down in future updates. Very frustrating.
