Protect DOES WORK in Frontlines.
Protect DOES WORK in Frontlines.
Except that's not clear at all. In fact, it's entirely misleading.
This fact is on the Morale tooltip. Morale - a stat that is disabled in Frontlines.
It only serves to reason that if Morale is inactive then it can't possibly replace Defense and Magic Defense.
However, the Defenses are disabled anyway, which is not how the Morale tooltip said or implied that it works.
If they don't change or remove Morale altogether, then they at least need to change to tooltip to specify that it is only active in Wolves' Den, instead of "PvP", and to somehow visually display, in the UI, the fact that Defense an Magic Defense are disabled when in all PvP, as I suggested in Nickx's "REQUEST LIST" thread.

Exactly. It is NOT clearly spelled out or we wouldn't be having this discussion. Other spells the aspects of it that don't work in PVP, it is CLEARLY spelled out that they don't work such as SMN Resurrection and SCH Miasma's Heavy in the tooltip. No one questions that SMN res and Miasma's Heavy doesn't work in PVP, why? because the game tells you so on the tooltip. In fact, Resurrection gets grayed out in PVP for SMNs to let them know its completely nonfunctional. I wouldn't suggest Protect being grayed out like that since it can still be used to absorb buff removal skills, but other spells that are completely nonfunctional in PVP should be grayed out as well.
so they need to put that in the tooltip for Protect, Fey Covenant, Foresight and any other ability that has been rendered disabled because of the disabling of morale. It's all been left up to players' assumptions and deduction and it shouldn't be that way. I'm pretty sure most people don't know Protect is a faux buff and even less people may know that magic/physical defense spells are also null and void in PVP as well because SE failed to communicate that information to its playerbase WITHIN THE GAME and not just on some forum or their web site.

For both Frontline and the Wolves’ Den, physical defense and magical defense are nullified, and battle balance was adjusted based on this. Due to this, Foresight, Protect, and other actions that boost your defense will not have an effect during battle.
I will be compiling your feedback and forwarding it to the devs regarding having this information appear in-game.
