Healer strike is ridiculously foolish and accomplishes nothing
LOL this system will do absolutely nothing to address any one of your concerns. You might want to reread it.I was very happy after I know that they changed the repair system to more simpler.
Nowadays, when I try to walk around Uldah to fix stuffs for people, this is the problems I found
1) I don't have required mat
2) my inventory is full cuz repair mat take about 50 space, and I must carry all tools for stand by for every repair I might found ( 8 more spaces )
3) when I want to stop repair, it take forever to move all my mats from inventory to retainer ( but if do so, my retainer inventory will full )
So... After above problems, I stop repair to anyone. But I still love repair for other people, I think is good way to interact between players.
So, for those who complain, please stop playing this game, it's not your game and this game is going better and better everyday.
1) You still might not have the mat. there are what, 5-6 different dark matters to obtain?
2) You will still need sufficient rank. This implies that you will still need your tools.
3) you will still have the same issue.
For those of you that cant read, please stop playing this game, pick up a book and practice....
That being said, i really like this. With a standard repair mat'l a standard price can be determined. people will finally know how much to ask for while seeking repairs. It'll end up being like shouting for a tele.
But, truth be told... all this really did is remove the ability to produce their own repair mat'l from the DoH's and give that ability to DoL's.

Healer strike is ridiculously foolish and accomplishes nothing
Of course the one Update that isnt sent to my pjhone is this garbadge..
Overall I think I'm more disappointed than pleased by this change because I liked the fents and spetches. :3 But even so, it is no tragedy.
I don't understand the reason for the multiple grades of the material though. If it is some magical, mystical substance of legend and myth that can fix anything, it is sort of silly to say "this piece of wonder-stuff can't fix that r38 iron falchion, but it will fix that r26 iron gladius, even though they are both made of iron." More importantly - if the whole idea behind this change was to save inventory space and streamline repairs, wouldn't it be better to have only this material itself without the grades?
Unless they are hoping people will spend lots of gil at the vendors for the high grade version and drain some clink clink out of the economy. But, even if that were the case, I don't think that's gonna happen. Whatever gathering class can pull this up is going to charge as much as they can for it without overpricing the npc.
To me it would have made more sense to have one single grade of this stuff and have it pop out of grade 1 nodes. This way, most anyone can get it, and no one can make much of a profit out of it so it won't damage our gil-flooded economy more. Instead of grades, I would have suggested that the higher items require multiple pieces.

This may be the worst idea I have ever seen in my life.
