Kiara had a great example - clothcraft needles. Especially the silver needle, I found myself just chucking the old needle and crafting myself a new one, which wasted a silver nugget. Those damn siltstones/whetstones were way too expensive and seemed to be pretty rare in the wards. And if your needle is HQ1, HQ2? Makes it really hurt to throw it away!

I think its great that they streamlined the process. It will free up alot of inventory space... Now what to do with all those repair mats, lol

If they really wanted to reduce inventory issues for repairs, why did they still make five different variants of the same item still for repairs instead of one? Also the name for these new "Repair Kits" essentially could have been used for something so much cooler.

As for my judgement on how this will all work out, depending on the prices for dark matter sold by the NPC or the rarity of gathering them, this might make the system of repairs really worthless or a serious gil sink. All I know is that I'm going to fix up all my equipment just before the patch in case the latter is true.

Well they still need to differentiate between different rank items.

One thing that I think should be looked at is the fact that crafting clothes, at 0% condition, do not lose their stats (such as craftsmanship, control, etc) but will lose their defense stats. Which doesn't mean a whole lot for a crafter spamming iron squares in Ul'dah.

This also happens with stat rings too, you still get the bonus, just lower defense. A piece of gear should have greatly reduced stats for all attributes it gives you if it's heavily damaged.

I was very happy after I know that they changed the repair system to more simpler.
Nowadays, when I try to walk around Uldah to fix stuffs for people, this is the problems I found
    1) I don't have required mat
    2) my inventory is full cuz repair mat take about 50 space, and I must carry all tools for stand by for every repair I might found ( 8 more spaces )
    3) when I want to stop repair, it take forever to move all my mats from inventory to retainer ( but if do so, my retainer inventory will full )

So... After above problems, I stop repair to anyone. But I still love repair for other people, I think is good way to interact between players.

So, for those who complain, please stop playing this game, it's not your game and this game is going better and better everyday.

LOL this system will do absolutely nothing to address any one of your concerns. You might want to reread it.

    1) You still might not have the mat. there are what, 5-6 different dark matters to obtain?
    2) You will still need sufficient rank. This implies that you will still need your tools.
    3) you will still have the same issue.

For those of you that cant read, please stop playing this game, pick up a book and practice....

That being said, i really like this. With a standard repair mat'l a standard price can be determined. people will finally know how much to ask for while seeking repairs. It'll end up being like shouting for a tele.

But, truth be told... all this really did is remove the ability to produce their own repair mat'l from the DoH's and give that ability to DoL's.
