What? Your Armor cracked? Slap some magic goo on it!
Your Blade is dull!?! Have some magic goo!
You tore a hole in your pants? MAGIC GOO!!

It's beyond far fetched.. You name for me one Master Craftsman who would willing give up his years of hard work and refined skill to make his living slapping magic goo on broken objects..
Not to mention the level to which this epicly screws Botanist..
The immersion may be damaged in your eyes, but what do you think about the positive impacts this will have towards inventory management, item bloat, redundant items, and database load?

My Threads: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/s...vBForum_Thread
As someone has already said, "Dark Matter" really is just a "Repair Kit".
Unfortunately, the Development Team has decided to give the item a name which completely misdescribes its function or purpose.
If they introduced this initially as a Repair Kit that can be purchased from NPCs, it wouldn't be getting nearly as much flack as it is now.
Names are important.
Umm....undyed canvas and velveteen are not used soley for repairs. I don't see your problem. Those are used for skillups too, as well as materials for completed items. I doubt people were buying them just to make fents.I am most definitely NOT ok with this. The only way to make money in this game, as a low level crafter, is to sell crafting materials. Over the past few weeks, I have sold 10 stacks of undyed velveteen and 17 stacks of undyed canvas. I still have about 20 stacks of each. What's going to happen now that all of that is essentially worthless? After the announcement of fatigue removal, I had high hopes, but now, I'm really ticked off -.-
So in other words, calm down!![]()
"I know not what brings men joy. Of what drives them to great deeds, of what legacies they hope to leave, I know less yet. But I do know this: The true hero of this tale was the man forgotten."
And yet it's not like everyone can fix everything. You still need to meet the proper craft/rank requirements. Thus you're manipulating this dark matter into what is needed to fix the item.
