You unhappy of what DF gave you and want leave without penalty. Bad news (for you) is that the penalty has been made to address attitude like yours.
You think it's everyone's obligation to party with people who can't stay connected to the game, or perform so poorly at their role so as to make the run totally unwinnable? The bad news (for you) is that there's nothing forcing good players to carry bad players, and forcing a vote dismiss means no timer penalty. The only person who gets their time wasted is the player with the poor connection/skill, so... yay!
It's totally selfish to go into a run KNOWING you are having severe latency issues and make everyone else suffer because, well, screw them. Ain't nobody got time for dat. Especially when if you're in DF, you probably had to wait forever to get into that run to begin with. Try thinking of others in addition to just yourself, at least to some degree.

Well luckily for me the penalty didn't matter because the group I was with even the player lagging were all very nice. I left with no animosity and I don't really know how their run turned out. It's not my fault the players connection was bad and punishment was sitting there being forced to deal with someone else who was having problems. My attitude of wanting a poor-connection-free play experience, I'm content with whatever label you want to give me. I pay my internet bill.
