Ragequitting in Duty Finder has leveled up!

I think there's more to this story, guys, than we're really letting on.

I often frequently get tanks who leave my dungouns after the first boss. At first, I thought it was a glitch, so I unplugged my internet modem to turn it off and turn it back on. I expected my tank and party members to be ready and more willing when I came back, however, it never seemed to change anything - the tanks would always drop after the first boss. I began to think this was the way the game was meant to be played - maybe something just happened to tanks after that first boss? But I really wanted to see more, so I kept going.

As I continued deeper, every now and then, I would see something - a flash would be used, but none of us were outside of our Jobs. Sometimes you'd see the Circle of Scorn motion raining down blood from the roof...? As I walked, I could hear this sound of multiple slashes resembling Savage Blade going off constantly...

We finally reached the second boss. And what I saw, I almost couldn't believe. There was my tank, standing and waiting for me - but he was different. He no longer had a head! I began to freak out. Boss battle music began to play, and he charged at me with his weapon! We started to fight the tank, but our attacks had no effect on him. The entire time, there's an NPC who shared our image in the middle, suffering constant attacks and coming closer and closer to death. The moment he died, the fight just... ended, and we were awarded loot. Tank drops? Why must the server mock us when we don't even have our tank? We've been working hard up to this point, but I guess we'll just have to continue to go if we want to clear this...

By this point I'd of expected to get a new tank by now, but all there is, is the persistent 'readying duty...' marker over in that right corner. I swallowed nervously, because now that the body had dissapeared, it stated that we were at 3/4ths our tank. I wasn't sure what to make of this, and the wierdness continued. Every now and then, while fighting mobs, we would see some oddness - some would use the tank skills. Rampart, Sentinal, even HOLLOWED GROUND was used at one point and we just couldn't do any damage to it. We had to start running to get away from some of these mobs, or else we'd never be able to win...

We finally got to the last boss, and much to our horror, it was the HEAD OF OUR TANK. Floating there. He gave a hollow smile to us and said "Thanks for waiting for me while I was afk"... I could feel my heart beating in my chest as he started to slowly approach me, to come towards me with that sense of dread...

I didn't know what would happen, so I turned off my game, completely. Square, please, FIX THIS DUNGOUN.

btw, this issue probably be harder to get fixed because this problem never happen in JP server. As a tank myself, I 'd love to finish dungeon quick for daily Alex, but I never get the chance to fill up other party that missing a tank. I think JP players tend to be more conservative so this issue not happen, and if this issue not happen in JP data center, then Yoshida is unlikely to hear about it.

You unhappy of what DF gave you and want leave without penalty. Bad news (for you) is that the penalty has been made to address attitude like yours.

Well luckily for me the penalty didn't matter because the group I was with even the player lagging were all very nice. I left with no animosity and I don't really know how their run turned out. It's not my fault the players connection was bad and punishment was sitting there being forced to deal with someone else who was having problems. My attitude of wanting a poor-connection-free play experience, I'm content with whatever label you want to give me. I pay my internet bill.

Third world connections, Don't have one, shouldn't have to deal with one. If you can't keep your internet connection up, leave the party so you don't hold 3 other people back.

excuse the entire population without fiber connectivity for being rude people who waste your precious time.

if you are looking for a smooth,fast,lagfree run, just use PF then.
joining the df is like asking for it.

it's also hilarious how a person is supposed to "keep his connection up".
what are you, a humanized router? a telephone company?

Not at all, but I don't have a donkey turning a wheel powering my router either. If my connection craps out. I leave the party, I don't continually hold my party back like an ass because I can't keep a stable connection. If you've got a crap connection it's unlikely it'll be cleared up before your 30 minute penalty goes away anyway. Suck it up, realize you aren't the only person in your group and leave, so that the people with stable connections can finish the dungeon in an efficient and problem free manner.

if even without the lagging party member, you need still 30 minutes to finish a dungeon, that means the other party members suck, too.
or worse, the others don't want to wait till another one joins the party, and they quit.
so you are just wsting the time you spent waitng for the duty to start.
