Dropping dungeons has increased a lot lately.....and not only because of rage but because of hunts too...

You could always get the usual quitter because they don't like the dungeon, they don't like the party, etc etc-ragequitting excuses.
Yesterday I got a tank leaving us in the middle of Tam-Tara HM because Agrippa spawned on his server...

Agreed, and with friends like that who needs enemies? They're basically putting the player you replied to you in the position where their two choices are 1) bail alongside them and play a part in taking advantage of two random players who queue'd for a full run, or 2) stay to help them mitigate the effect their abuse of the system has on the other players, and also be inconvenienced by waiting for a new tank (whereas the tank who's a 'friend' is off doing crafting or Hunts or whatever that isn't impacted by the 30 minute lockout). This type of player is not only using random people in DF, they're using 'friends' they con into queuing with them as part of their charade.

This is a clear abuse of the system- the tank involved chose to use DF vs. PF for one reason- to get what they wanted faster at the expense of others who queued for a full run and would have chosen NOT to join a PF for 'first boss clear then leave'. People who use their instant-queue DF privileges vs. PF to do this absolute scum- they're trading off the much larger amount of time that others spent in queue (could be a cumulative hour or more between 2 DPS's) beforehand, as well as waiting on a replacement if one shows after they leave, for a few extra minutes of their own time to do something else. Sad thing is this person probably has a gold magitek mount just for being a tank from the dungeons they did deign to finish, when really they should be getting decommendations.

Btw those of us who have PS4 are able to hit a button on our controller to autosave video of the last few minutes of gameplay after the fact. I'm sure I'm not the only one keeping a record of the players who do this. As long as I'm a current subscriber bound by the Terms of Service however, I would never violate that by posting that stuff yet.

Yea, this was the point I was going for. It would still be a grind for the vanity pieces, which is an entirely different issue to be tackled on its own; this would be purely to save all those poor souls who get into a dungeon run to have their tank ditch after the first boss and leave them stranded. That's a pretty crappy thing to do to someone. Not sure I could ever bring myself to do it.

Love it or hate it, the way XI did it was pretty beautifully done aside the drop rates. Stuff can come from regular monsters in raids or special monsters or an end chest - Basically nothing that would force you into one "spot" then leave, the whole raid has something. Sure you'd skip some more annoyin NMs (because they'll wreck face), but you don't skip entire raids after you kill 1 monster unless it's the boss itself, e.g skipping unnecessary farming to go kill Dynamis Lord/Arch Dynamis Lord.

Heh could you imagine someone winning Assassins Armlets 5 mins into a Dyna Xarc then immediately dropping Hourglass? Or someone dropping Hourglass because their HNMLS was holding Faffy?

The fallout would be pretty...lol, it won't end well for that person, no matter where they try to flee to after the whole server spreads the word. Times definitely have changed.

Hurray for open world rare spawns! Perfectly well analyzed before adding those hunts.

If the Assassin's Armlets were ninja-lotted, I could totally see it - and dropping linkpearl as well. This is the stuff that prime popcorn-munching internet drama is built off of. XD

I could see the Faffy example, happening, as well, but most likely as part of an arrangement the player made with the Dynamis shellholder ("I'd love to be part of your Dyna LS, but I gotta be faithful to the HNMLS I'm already in - is it okay if I drop out of a run to help out if window opens during a run?" "Sure, that's fine, as long as you're not a critical role like healer or tank. You won't get LS points for that run, though, that okay?" "Yeah, that's fair. Thanks!")

If, by some miracle of RNGeesus, a tank piece drops I ask if anyone needs it for their tank. If yes then I pass. If no I need it. If they state they are looking for it for vanity I greed it.

As said in many a thread, gear should drop from bosses only, keep the mats to side chests.
They are vanity pieces, all you have to do is kill one elite and you get enough allied seals for an i90 gear piece, anything between AF and i90 is vanity, retainer gear or company seal fodder.

Sounds about right. So no more "How do I gear "X job" from fresh fiddies. You hear that. It has all been answered here. You only run these dungeons to get VANITY gear and vanity gear...well apparrel ONRY. IDGAF if you think your job needs that piece to get the extra point of iLVL to get into that Duty you have been trying for, go HUNT sukka, I'm here to get FAB-U-LOUS!!

Hunts are the answer to all gear problems. Nuff said.
