Here's a great tip that's bound to not only help you in this game, but also in life:

    Say you're new.

Honestly, too many parties wipe because someone doesn't know mechanics and doesn't speak up. If you don't say anything, the party expects you to know what you're doing.

Unfortunately, jerks can buy and run a game as easily as everyone else. So you have to expect a lot of the trouble you're having, it's pretty much unavoidable.

The party finder does help, but it could take a LONG time to get a party together. Posting up something like "first time run of Aurum Vale, lookking for help" or whatever coud work for you. As I said, it'll take forever to get a party, but you'd know you're getting people who are willing to help you.

It's up to you how you want to weigh the convenience/speed vs. pleasantness/fun factor.

Parties are going to kick you anyway when you're the sole reason they wiped.

Being new will show one way or another. Lying or simply not answering won't help you at all. There will be a mechanic you'll miss at some point or another - following people around only gets you so far. If you wipe the party, it will only make people even more upset because it could have easily been prevented. Admitting you're new at the beginning at least lets people have the chance to let you know what to watch out for. If they kick you immediately, you can report them for abuse of the kick system and requeue immediately.

Honestly, the kind of people that would kick you simply for being new aren't the kind of people you'd want to run with anyway. These are the people that rage at someone for making an honest mistake and flip absolute shit if the party does wipe. There are plenty of helpful players out there, but they need to know that you don't know the fight before they're going to explain it to you. Many of us actually enjoy the opportunity to teach things to new people and help them clear content. The bonus myth is a nice incentive, too.

You're on the same server as me, and I've never had that issue. I've run across people that have left the party because someone was new (and of course the ones that stay but treat the entire party like crap), but never anyone that attempted to vote kick the newbie simply for being new. The only time I've seen newbies vote kicked was when they didn't speak up saying they were new, and subsequently wiped the party. Most players I know would rather know you're new up front so we know what to expect. It's like the other poster said, if nobody speaks up saying that they're new, it's an unspoken agreement that you already know what you're doing.

    Do this, please.

People are going to say you'll get kicked for saying so. Maybe, everyone in a while, you will. But for the most part, you wont, and your party will appreciate the heads up. Most bosses only need about 2 lines of explanation, and everyone's going to appreciate the time you save by fessing up so you don't wipe.

With the recent patch, everyone knows when someone new is there anyway. Might as well say its you so they can tailor they're instructions to your class and role.
