    You're right, they aren't forced to. But it is courteous to do so.
    Also your analogy is terrible, Gold is a finite resource, Allied Seals can be earned by everyone that is there and takes part.
    If they had waited for the group to show up, everyone would had gotten credit, no harm would have come from doing this. This is where the difference lies.

    If people pull the things they do if you don't wait for them, they aren't worth the courtesy to begin with. And the analogy is a reference to wanting something you clearly aren't needed for but still wanting it so it still stands.
