This is where I stopped reading. Once you realize that it's not a choice, all your points are moot. Just say that you don't agree and move on, please.Originally Posted by Chezen

There are three reasons to be homosexual that come to mind.
Healer strike is ridiculously foolish and accomplishes nothing

If you say so, but people aren't born homosexual or not. Cells don't know race, color, or sex and genes don't know likes, dislikes, attitude, thoughts, etc. My college has actually been doing research on this "gay gene" nonsense and currently, there is no evidence to support the claim that it exists. Hence, there is no such thing as being "born gay." Therefore, it IS a choice. I have no problem with it at all, but people need to understand that you can't be born one way or the other. You are just born.

And where's the evidence to support that it doesn't exist? Has your college managed to completely map human DNA and knows all its secrets? Why aren't you curing cancer then?If you say so, but people aren't born homosexual or not. Like Pulseczar said, it would make things alot easier if it were, because then I wouldn't have to subject myself to all this self-righteous bull.
This is just like the "God" argument. We have little evidence to prove that it exists and that, alone, is evidence towards proving that it doesn't. No, we haven't completely mapped the DNA sequences, BUT, seeing as how all other life choices are based off of your environment, who you surround yourself with and what not, the same can be said about your choice of sexuality. But, if people want to keep arguing this, apparently, if you are a criminal, it is because you are born a criminal. If you are a rockstar, it is because you were born a musician. If you are an artist, it is because you were born an artist. If you like red-heads, it is because you were born liking red-heads. All of these are choices, as is sexuality. As far as the snide little curing cancer comment, we know how it evolves and we know how to stop it from evolving, if caught early enough, but we don't know how to stop it from forming in the first place. Problem? And where's the evidence to support that it doesn't exist? Has your college managed to completely map human DNA and knows all its secrets? Why aren't you curing cancer then?

There is proof that homosexuality is genetic. Ever seen that episode of Family Guy where Peter is injected with the gay gene and becomes gay? There's your proof![]()
Yes it's a little known fact that during our free time we homosexuals hand out fliers that convert people to gaydom upon reading them. XD Honestly some people are just so dumb it's funny.
Why is this topic even up for discussion!? What if somebody started the same debate about inter-racial marriages? They'd be banned within seconds. Honestly do you think gay people think that some of your "I don't have a problem with it" comments are some kind of treats from heaven?
Try these things the other way around and it's always just hilarious.
" If they add marriage to XIV I wouldn't have a problem with straight people getting married. (usually there's also a great emphasis on their own sexual identity like they assume people are asking for it) I mean personally I'm 100% gay let me just get that out there in the open but two straighties putting a ring on it would be totally fine with me. As long as they don't have to rub it in my face by wearing a ring or speaking about it in public because that sort of stuff should only happen in the privacy of their own home. " /sarcasm off
Also I've had completely homophobic parents so honestly what can you possibly hope to achieve by growing kids to be so hateful? It certainly won't stop them from being gay if they were born that way.
