Sorry booboo but Coil isnt the only way to obtain the best gear available. They implemented this little content, you may not have heard about it but it grants access to a lot of the best gear in the game! Of course in talking about Hunts.

Anyways, as far as other single player FF games go, while not being referred to as relic weapons per say, the "relic" weapons themselves do appear and some are BiS for those characters. A little research goes a long way hehe.

Yea relics aren't getting harder per say, they've just gotten tedious. They're a timesink in a game that's aimed at casuals. You get the idea? Plus, I've been dealing with SEs shenanigans for some 10 years now and they follow a very strict formula and don't deviate much from it. Mark my words, Relics will be BiS in due time.
