You can obtain better weapons now without the stupid ridiculous grind. Even Everquest from 1999 didn,t have a grind like this, plus I think its stupid that were grinding for ATMA items from low lvl FATES.

Until you... y'know... need them In order to progress with the Relic questline... a concept that has been fundamental to FF Online's core, lore-centric gameplay for over a decade. Anyone who thinks looted weaps will be the gold standard in FF forever is deluding themselves.

That's kinda the problem... casuals who just log on to run dungeon content bypass virtually all of the game's core content and lore.

Huh? It's been some time but a finished Relict quest was the requirement to start Coil if I remember correctly. Maybe I am wrong, it is almost a Year ago for me.

... ... or the Bragging rights

You are wasting your time for second best with the relic quest.
The relic is actually "For Casuals", as an alternative to the end game raid that is actually fundamental to FFXIV core.
The Raid drops will always be the gold standard.
