Without some mechanic to set this up automatically nobody will do it including me. That assumes you even have the old gear in the first place.
Technically possible is not the same thing as actually possible or remotely likely.
Make a party/linkshell of people who are willing to equip i90 or i80 gear and disable the echo and you will get to enjoy the content how it was when it came out, nothing is stopping you.
"None of this is about feeling like a "special snowflake"" would be true if you weren't also asking for special achievements (or asking to remove achievements from echo fights).
If you're craving for so much attention get a girlfriend... or boyfriend... or dog if you're into that.
I mean honestly having some structure and competition to things is fun. Time trials and leaderboards might be cool as well. Why are some of you seemingly so opposed to it?
Seems like you want a challenge, why don't you go do SCOB since you havent even beat that yet instead of complaining about how easy old ass content is.
you mean you cant make a pre ilvl90 gear set? yea, it does suck we cant do that/sarcasm. and everything you have said does point to special snowflake. going to paraphrase; "I dont like echo, and i didnt need it, thus all others should get good or be stuck behind something, and yes, i am including the people that just started playing the game."

If you and the 7 other snowflakes you're playing with are good enough to beat the content without the echo, outside of coil, you'll never see the echo. You know why? Because you won't wipe on the content. Whether you are in i100 gear or i50-70 with a GC weapon if that's what's appropriate for the content you're doing, you'll go in and one-shot it. Of course even the best groups occasionally make mistakes, but guess what, if you can't reliably one-shot the content you're doing, then the echo you hate so much, is put there for people like you.
Does that necessarily mean you're a bad player, no. As others have stated their are many reasons, one of the most common being in a lot of the fights you can perform flawlessly but one of the other party members kills the whole group.
Get over yourself. If you want something to be proud of, go achieve something in real life, I promise it will be more rewarding than "beat Twintania with no echo" title or whatever in game achievement you want.

That's not the point, as new Content Released, old content is irrelevant. There always be new Contents released that can give you good challenged. Try New Coil, Ramuh, etc. Even Brutal Coil if you feel so epeen about it. So I don't get what you crying about? Afterall, it is old Contents. If you didn't beat T5 before the nerf? So What!? People don't even care about who World First, so what make you so special especially beating old contents?
I'll be honest, I'm really not sure how all of you feel justified in ascribing all of these selfish motivations to me. I'm saying that I would enjoy a feature like this. Instead of reasoned opinions, there's just poison and personal attacks. Not everyone values the same things, I'm probably not going to level many other classes, or go for a high end relic things I don't personally care about. Should a limited ilvl / echo mode with some associated achievements be put in place, that would interest me and I would persue it. I don't think that somehow automatically makes me an ass or special snowflake, any more than someone getting all 50 or high tier relics would make them one.
people are not agreeing with you because echo is not stoping you from doing content. echo has done nothing to help people dodge things better. it helps them survive longer, and eventually get more practice at content. more practice means they down it eventually. with more practice, they get better at moving, anticipating attacks, and making strats to deal with anything that comes at them. you saying echo is bad and anyone that has used it to beat something is a bad player is a blanket cast on everyone that took a break from the game, leveled up crafters or gatherers, did side quests at their own pace, dont have or want a static, and all new players that join when/after 2.3 hits. taking the achievements away because of any of those reasons is stupid and screams "they didnt do this fight when it was at its hardest, thust deserve nothing". that mindset is wrong, and doesnt help the community come together at all. people are already seperated by gear, why are you so intent on taking away something that will help bridge that gap as new things come out?I'll be honest, I'm really not sure how all of you feel justified in ascribing all of these selfish motivations to me. TL;DR echo helps more than it hurts and is doing nothing to stop you playing and beating content. please, stop complaining about a non existant problem.
