Que balance -> Why I might eventually quit FFXIV

I put down FFXIV for about two months now, only picking it back up to peek at the story/content. Why is this?
5+ hour long que / instance waits for DPS.
Verbal abuse as tank / healer.
In a game flooded with DPS I'm still not sure why SE decided to release a DPS class.
Why have a game when you cannot even play it?

Two things:

1) If it is taking 5 hours for you to get a party as a DPS then I guarantee you are doing it wrong.

2) If you are being verbally bullied as a tank then you should be vote kicking him/her with "Harassment" as the reason.

Two things to when queuing up for duty as a DPS. Make sure you have unlocked every possible dungeon (Based on your lodestone profile, I assume you already have.) and Second, Always make sure all 4 languages are highlighted in the duty finder so that you cast the widest net possible for parties. Many people don't know about the latter.

Sadly, this only works if your team mates agree, and I've seen plenty of instances where people 'gang up' on new players because they've made a simple mistake. The community can be extremely toxic to newcomers sometimes, since everyone wants to faceroll content.

Heck, the one and only time I was kicked from a duty it was because I had joined an LS group and we wiped. Our 2nd 'healer' spent 90% of their time in Cleric Stance, and did very little actual healing and somehow still managed to pin the blame on lack of heals on me. Birds of a feather flock together, as they say.

Anyway, as for queue times they SUCK on DPS. It's true. I've waited for over an hour in the queue trying to get a party, whether it's roulette or a specific dungeon. I hardly ever play my Black Mage or Summoner for this very reason. Queues are near instant on tank, and very manageable on white mage or scholar. Most of my summoner levels came from playing dungeons as a Scholar, in fact.

I just think that people prefer DPS jobs. DPS is generally much easier to play, since small mistakes go unnoticed. A mistake with a tank means losing aggro to something, and a mistake on a healer could result in a KO. It's higher risk. I guess most players just don't want that added responsibility, which is why there are so few of them to go around.

Just use the PF or find a Tank or Healer friend to que with you.
