Que balance -> Why I might eventually quit FFXIV

I put down FFXIV for about two months now, only picking it back up to peek at the story/content. Why is this?
5+ hour long que / instance waits for DPS.
Verbal abuse as tank / healer.
In a game flooded with DPS I'm still not sure why SE decided to release a DPS class.
Why have a game when you cannot even play it?

Be helpful and empathetic. You will eventually come across someone who does the same and you two will click together like legos. If you bump into people who do the opposite, just move on to someone else. This method has never failed me.

Because NIN is one of the most wanted classes. It's a business, hype is important, and NIN will hype more than just about any other class they could've released.

Join a Free Company or some Link Shells if you really hate the people this much. Personally, I don't have too many issues beyond the occasional troll, or new person who refuses to listen to advice.

I understand your frustrations, but there are ways to combat them.

Adding a tank class wouldn't solve it either. Tanks would drift to the new tank class...so would others at first just as something else to hit 50 with...but within a month or so the balance would return as the DPSers return to their DPS mains or healers to healer mains because there's a large volume of people who have at least 1 of every role leveled at this point (myself included) and will always lean towards their favorite role even if there were 50 tank classes. We also don't know if ROG/NIN is the only addition. The only job FF11 ever released solo was SMN and that was only as a teaser in lead up to Rise of the Zilart. SE is taking steps to combat the queues if you take a look at the new CT. The default Duty Finder loadout is 1 tank 3 healers 5 DPS. I'm not sure what you want them to do about the verbal abuse. I personally rarely get dickheads like that in my queues that berate my tanking/healing and I don't sweat the ones I do get because any online community...any online game...is going to have those people.

Yeah I'm not sure that the number of classes is really what drives this. Rather simply that more people like to be the one doing the damage!

The tank is commonly looked to as the leader of the party, and as such the stress level and knowledge required there is often higher. Less people want that. Healers are seen by many as maybe unexciting, for girls maybe, gets blamed often perhaps.

How is tank vs dps vs healers in PvP? (I havn't tried that yet, but perhaps there's some motivation there to build dps classes?)

Either way I doubt that adding a new class to any of the category's will change this at all.

Longest time I have ever waited for a queue was an hour and a half. However I was talking to some friends and reading forums to pass the time. Generally if it doesn't pop within a half hour for me I withdraw my registration. No sense in waiting longer than that. But DPS is the most played class type in game. If you're queuing as such expect longer wait times. Anything outside of that is either good luck or bad.
