    They need to stop calling them raids. They by the definition of the term RAID is not a single party in a mmo.

    8 man is fine if they want to focus purely on low man content for difficulty. Just call it what it is full party content.

    They need to call it what it is party content. It is not breaking Genre Standards... it is just not adding raids. All mmo have party content, they just call it that.
    8 is 2 less people then WoW popular 10 raiding. 8m is also made up of two 4 man parties combined into 1, just as 10m is made of 2 two 5 man parties in WoW. Large gigantic 40m "raids" are not only incredibly dull, reduced to tank spank or zerg fests, but are a nightmare to organize. Honestly there is nothing wrong with the number of players in the raid, it's the raid design that could use tweaking.

    To correct you .. 8 man is a "full PARTY" made up of two 4 man "light PARTY" combined into one.

    The CT raid is multiple 8 man "full PARTY" running around in the same instance.

    You are correct - there is nothing wrong with the number of people in the raid (24). However, since they are only one party, you can't call Coil a raid and they need to both stop calling it a raid, and introduce actual end-game raids.

    If you are going to cite another game, so shall I. In Everquest, you have 6 man groups. Group content is designed around having up to 6 people there. The Raid system, introduced for Planes of Power over a decade ago, supports twelve such groups - 72 people in all. A couple of expansions later, they reduced the number of people instances could hold by 3 groups, down to 54, but the raid system still supports 72.

    The raids in EQ are also a lot more complicated than mere zergs or tank'n'spank. http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/q...tml?quest=5081 for example, has more than just tank'n'spank involved. http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/q...tml?quest=3351 was fun pandemonium. http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/q...tml?quest=7416 has a lot more than tank and spank - plenty of kiting and other crowd control in addition to the tank'n'spank.

    Raids can be a lot more than what we have here in FF14 atm, a lot more than WoW's zerg and tank'n'spank raids. We all just need to recognize that 8 man Full Party content is NOT raid content, and SE need to stop calling some Full Party content "raid" and other Full Party content "group".
