So if I don't want to use ninjitsu crap I can still join your raid group right? No? So I can play Ninja dressed up like Thief, but not as a Thief. Got it... /sYou mean like the green armor set(likely glamourable) the Rogue was wearing in the intro media?
The Thief's iconic imagery since FF3 is a knife (sometimes singular sometimes dual wielded) using class that wears light clothes (usually green) wearing a bandana (usually green, but occasionally other colors).
The developers choice of the Rogue's gear in its intro was pretty much the developers way of saying "...and Here's THIEF!!!" to long time fans of the series.

It's a Damage Over Time ability. Of the abilities unique to SMN (not ACN abilities) the only one with a dot component is Enkindle. Summon III, Fester, Spur, and Tri-disaster certainly aren't dots. I mean, I guess Garuda's Enkindle move doesn't have a dot, but Ifrit's does and Titan's kinda does.
If your not counting arcanists DoT's you post makes alot more sense hahahaIt's a Damage Over Time ability.
