You can count but you can't understand a basic concept that the requested Thief job is not Ninja and that Rogue class will not give players what they want which is a Thief Job. Derp-a-Dee-Doo-Dah-DAY!

Good healers rarely run out of MP, good groups rarely die. And healers should heal...not Thieves...unless Thief is a healer...which makes no sense
Good tanks dont loose aggro, good DPS, dont overaggro. so no need for Thief to swap aggro.

in FF, THF traditionally steal things....that's all. NIN, throws shurikens and such...that's all.
now ofc Rogue is the base class, that theoretically branches off into both THF and NIN. So the only difference between them would be, THF steals things, Ninja uses Mudras.
Then again, it makes no sense for them to add 2 DD, from same class. and since all THF does is steal...it would make for a rather boring job. All combat oriented skills, that THF has, in XI....is covered by Rogue.
So again...the only thing THF would add, is stealing. Nothing else; Rogue is the comabat side of XI THF...
And again, we don't even know what skills rogues get...it might be everything that is THF, except the name...and that's a rather trivial thing to go bananas about.
the only diff between DRG and LNC...is Jump. so why would NIN be so different from Rogue? it just adds a few new skills...like you know...cross classing other classes.

Game developers aren't praised for what they cannot do. I wanted a Thief job, not Ninja. I'm not going to pretend that hand gesturing and Japanese characters flying around are things indicative of being a thief. Nor should we have to craft the damn thing in order to get it. People wrote off ninja back in the day because its dual wield and blink tanking were things seen as with broken or unfeasible with the armory system. If they can throw in another DD class, they can throw in Thief.

Just because you do not have a creative idea as to how a Thief Job can work in this game doesn't mean that professional game developers can not. Also Thief was never just a job that can steal. Other MMO's made Thief-like jobs pretty uber and became popular. Like Rogue from WoW.

I don't want to join a mindless discussion here, you know how the game is right now, but not how it will be in the future, Yoshi wants to implement hybrid jobs, it's on 2 or 3 interviews, don't ask for a source because i don't save the information in case i have to argue about it.

Anyways that's not the point, i just say they can implement w/e they want because they're designing this game and they have the freedom needed to listen the customers and do w/e they want.

Except all Thief job advocates want Thief job right now. They have very low, or no, patience. There could possibly be a Thief job, or this might be one of the few Final Fantasy games that don't have it. That's all it is.

i think it's a big difference between DRG doing DPS, and thief...restoring low hp/mp/swapping aggro.
you don't need a drg specifically, no...but you need DD.
What role do you want THF to be anyway? sounds like your idea is support type, but until/if we get that, BRD is DPS, and and THF would be DD.
And Yoshi already gave reasons for NOT adding THF...so, why even speculate? It just sounds like they didnt see much incentive to add THF as a job...i don't either.

Like many ppl already said, many times before....Rogue is already doing everything that THF can do. So THF and ROG is the same...
Complaining about ROG not being a thf/job, is kinda pointless...

ofc, BRD is already a hybrid job, so is SMN (even more so, since they can tank with egi, dps, and heal their pet)
but like i said, they already gave reasons NOT to add THF, and no, it doesn't mean they will never add it...they might.
if they had any good ideas for THF, they would probably have added THF together with NIN...but they didn't, so i don't think they have any good ideas of how to make a good job out of THF.
