How do you figure I'm entitled by saying that work should provide a reward? Is it entitled to say that someone who completes their Animus upgrade should have a better weapon than something bought at a vendor? Is it entitled to say that someone who farms tomestones should be able to exchange them for something worth their time? I'm not even arguing from my own situation because I'm Rank 26 and don't have even half of the Direwolf gear. Yet I'm arguing in favor of the people who have the i100 gear because I think that they deserve a return for the investment of their time. That's the plain truth about this: people (including myself) who spent their time preparing for Frontlines in order to have a competitive advantage are getting screwed because the gear is now obsolete. Without the morale stat, all PvP gear is inferior to their PvE counterparts. End of story. If Morale is removed then it must be replaced with something that makes PvP gear competitive again. This is not entitlement. It's common sense that when you're presented with an opportunity to work in a video game, then you should have a reasonable expectation that your work will pay off.

I understand the need for people to jump into a bg and roflstomp everyone with thier pvp weapons and gears, but the designers clearly didn't want that. They want Frontlines to be accessible to ALL.

ilvl 100 pvp isn't useless. It's currently pretty good for Wolf's Den and glamours and bragging rights.

With R40 and ilvl 100 pvp gear, you aren't preparing Frontlines. You're preparing for the future of pvp in FFXIV ARR.

So hold on your crazy amazing pvp gear. I'm pretty sure there will be more usage for pvp gear in the future.

I'll quote myself here to point out that I am not in favor of having a "roflstomping" kind of competitive advantage. I don't feel the need to go be a god on the battlefield and wag my e-peen in everyone's face. But when I began my grind through the Wolves' Den, I did it with the understanding that my work would pay off in gear much the same way that my trek through the Binding Coil would provide me with gear. If their intent was never to include PvP gear as a part of Frontlines, they simply should have been more up front about it and I frankly wouldn't have bothered with the Wolves' Den at all.

Shake, don't even bother. He speaks of balance, but how is it balance when a certain gear will be completely missing a stat. HAVING 3 STATS VS 4 STATS IS BALANCE AMIRITE

I feel entitled to my PvP gear, I earned it and it's PvP gear not wolves den gear. The issue here isn't that we want to be pvp gods, cause frankly we're that skilled anyway and will stomp in Frontlines regardless. The issue is that SE has rendered our gear useless that we worked for under the safe assumption that PvP gear would work in PvP only to be let down. You know friends that are excited for frontlines that don't pvp? Yeah they'd probably still be excited regardless. You know we are excited about frontlines too, I'd argue more-so because we spent a lot of effort getting gear FOR frontlines. It's not even that absurd to think of how we could assume it was going to be used in Frontlines.

I am entitled to my gear, no shame in that.

Also, I've said this before, morale stat is vastly overrated. It's actually not that powerful as people like to believe. A set of ilvl70 gear and you're fine as long as you learn how to pvp.

I actually agree with you on this. I have a theory though that the dev team is going to rework the moral stat to work differently in the future.

On another note, if you farmed R40 and pvp gear for the reason of Frontlines, you're going to have a bad time.

I know I'm repeating myself, but I think it's called appealing to the masses and getting people interested in pvp.

I know it all too well how it is to farm something and then to immediately use it and getting the achievement. New progression patch comes out, hard work to kill bosses, get the loots, rinse and repeat for the next content patch. I too think it is strange to release a pvp battleground without the use of the pvp stat. I started to question, "What is the grand plan SE is trying to do with Frontline?". I mean, I'm not happy that my pvp gear will be practically rendered useless in Frontlines, but I'm not unhappy either. Even if I did spend 3000 hours solo queuing as dps in the Wolf's Den to get my R40 and ilvl 100 pvp gear, my stance would still be the same on this.

Yes it is strange that moral may have no factor in Frontlines, but it would probably be better to look at the bigger picture of the current and future FFXIV ARR pvp scene.

Everyone ask yourselves: Why would SE make Moral a non-factor in the new battleground Frontlines?
