Yeah. For now I'm just gonna take it as relative to 1.0.

Yes, this is the correct way to read english.
Also, the game was on hotel keys last year's E3, it would make no sense for "now" to mean "since 1.0".
It would lead to Coerthas Central Lowlands, which is a zone missing since 2.0. Quite a few of the zone transitions in 2.0 are oddly long... Central Shroud to Northern Shroud, for example. In Central Shroud you're walking into a lush area with lots of plantlife, and the giant crystal structure is far north. In Northern Shroud, the area is completely barren and the giant crystal structure is far south. I find it likely that we'll be able to go there (which I believe is Western Shroud) through a tunnel that will eventually appear at the Spriggan Dig maybe. The zone between Coerthas Central Highlands and Mor Dhona is probably the same; we take a route off map that goes around Central Lowlands, and the gate in Mor Dhona now leads to Central Lowlands. Alternatively the gate could lead to a new city, seeing as Revenant's Toll is becoming so prosperous, though there is still the possibility that on the other side of the city is a gate which leads to Central Lowlands. I also guess, like so many gates in Eorzea, it could just be there for no real reason, and never lead anywhere.

It seems more like a death sentence than a promotion to advertise changes in a game that happened months ago at E3. E3 is about the future of gaming. Companies make announcements to get people excited not to tell them what they already know.
Releasing classes without jobs is like releasing CT after Coil. "Yay this is fun. Kinda pointless to get ilvl 80 gear whenever everyone is getting ilvl 90 gear though, isn't it?" They did it, sure... but the only reason they did is because there were last minute issues that prevented the release of CT and they had already announced a release date. Everyone would level up the new classes, get to end game with them and complain that they are useless. No AF, no relic, no job specific abilities, and no real role in parties. We don't know for sure if we're even getting new jobs at this time, we were only told about new classes so far. Even at launch we were only supposed to get Arcanist with SMN coming in 2.1. They apparently were ahead of schedule because not only did we get SMN at launch, but we got SCH too which came as a huge surprise (well... it was leaked info before that Yoshida himself said he was very disappointed with). What I'm getting at is that We have confirmed 2 new classes, HOWEVER based on how ahead/behind schedule SE is, we may get anywhere from 0 to 4 jobs, which is why I said "X jobs" in my post

Assuming this isn't Photoshop or something from last year it has to be taking about the hinted classes and other new announcements. You wouldn't word it like that talking about old content. It just doesn't make sense speaking proper English, the claims are all dated, and you wouldn't go to E3 to brag about a game you released last year unless you had big plans for big announcements during your conference

To be fair, 1.0 players didn't have any jobs for a year and a half before 1.21 put them in.Releasing classes without jobs is like releasing CT after Coil. "Yay this is fun. Kinda pointless to get ilvl 80 gear whenever everyone is getting ilvl 90 gear though, isn't it?" They did it, sure... but the only reason they did is because there were last minute issues that prevented the release of CT and they had already announced a release date. You need to play FFtactics and Tactics advance. Gladiator is a Job, in FF Advance
"You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war."

But its not a typical Final Fantasy job, namely one seen in the numbered series. The only two classes which have been a job in a numbered game are Conjurer in FFIII (which is debatable as it was officially translated as Evoker) and Archer in FFXII (again, debatable because it only exists in the International version of the game).
