By roughly calculation, it's been more than decades in Eorzean time since ARR being released, and we still got this forever winter?

Lately been spending weeks around this place grinding & farming DoL, and I'm getting real sick seeing snow anymore. ><

Send a giant meteor or flare or something. For pete's sake, cease these boring-wintery thingie! And give us back the beautiful greens of Coerthas we once knew... ><

Corny jokes aside, I like the snow. We have lush Gridania, I always like snowy areas in my games. ^^

La Noscea isn't green enough for you? I didn't really play 1.0 but everything I've seen of old Coerthas was endless boring green plains not unlike La Theine Plateau in FFXI. I think Coerthas has more character now. The accepted theory right now is the snow is a result of Shiva so it likely isn't going away anytime soon.

Hopefully after we defeat Shiva the snow starts to thaw, similar to how Mor Dhona has changed over time. I'm pretty sure there is a concept map of Coerthas that had the southern regions of it thawed, at the very least they can add Coerthas Eastern Lowlands without snow.

That would kind of interfere with the MS. Although the times when Coerthas isn't dark and snowy are rare, its a magnificent sunrise scenery is enjoyed all the more.

Maybe I'm more of forest like person, but ARR have really toned down the greeneries. Current Shroud greens are nothing compared with old ones, and the only green part of Noscea are middle and lower area and those are even barely since upper with especially outer one are more like chemical waste land. But those aren't bugging me as much as these obnoxious wintery Coerthas we have now. All whites wherever I go.

I hope in expansion/future content when new zones are added we get a "summer" version of Coerthas. I do like that we have a snowy zone aswell; but the Coerthas in 1.0 was much more visually pleasing.

Just popping in with my two cents - it hasn't been decades, it's been a few months to a year at most. Somewhere on the lore forums there's a post about it, but Ferne said that in the game world, the passage of day/night doesn't actually affect the canonical passage of time. Otherwise you'd have new adventurers starting out fifteen years after others, but experiencing the same events, and years would pass between patches, and our characters would very obviously never age and eventually start to outlive their logical lifespans...basically, if a time frame comes from quests, take it at face value, but you can't calculate anything just based on how many ingame days Eorzea has experienced.

I will admit, I freaking loved 1.0 Coerthas, not so much now.
