And when that is, you genius. People have no way to know.

Some of us relish the moment when everything aligns up properly. Videogames don't have to be just about fun, they can also be emotionally enriching in other ways too.
What the fuck? No, they should be about fun.

I think surrounding yourself with the mechanics of Eorzeas nature can be part of that enrichment if you let yourself relax and soak it in.
OH GREAT YOSHI-P, YES, I SAW THE LIGHT BECAUSE MY CHARACTE STAYED ON THE TOP OF A LAMP FOR 20 MINUTES UNTIL THE WEATHER WENT TO RAINY TO CLEAR

And let's not forget the moment when I spent 30 minutes for midnight to come, only for the weather to go to foggy, making the whole thing useless.

Oh yeah, and that afternoon spent inside a building waiting for the weather to get foggy so I could see what the tanners were doing. Truly a magical experience it couldn't be replicate with another weather!

I'm enriched and enlighten!

Btw, the NPC in this game doesn't even have a day-night cycle, so what the hell?

If the patience required such a burden, you really don't need to focus on (or even attempt) it at all.
It just seems to be making a big deal out of nothing.

Maybe if it logged reminders and/or alerted you when the setting was right people might be less upset.
NO THEY DON'T, THAT'S WHY THERE IS A LOG YOU HAVE TO FUCKING DECIPHERER AND THAT REQUIRES YOU TO WALK AND CHECK THE GROUND FOR A 1X1 SQUARE THAT ACTIVATES THE EVENT, YOU DON'T STUMP ON IT RANDOMLY, DID YOU FREACKING DO IT.

AND EVEN IF YOU DO STUMP ON IT RANDOMLY GOOD LUCK GETTING 80 LOGS WITH THE RIGHT WEATHER, TIME AND EMOTE FOR ALL THE 80 LOGS BY "HAPPENING ACROSS THEM"
