personally i gave up on atma after seeing a tank clad in almost full high allagan, which is my new goal lol the pld sword and shield look 1000x cooler than any variant se could possibly make for relics which so far is no glow/glow/no glow/brighter glow. unless they make novus higher than i115 i wont bother with my relic anymore for once again coil weapon is superior
And the funny thing about that is those Allagan and Primal based gear are far easier to get in comparison to the Atma and Animus weapons. I don't know how the gear that's more powerful than the Animus/Atma are easier to get. Shouldn't it be the opposite?
Indeed, with all the complaints about difficulty skews, its funny to see people consider Atma more difficult, even though it is not skill-based.
Perish the thought, multiple ways to get a high end weapon with drastically different conditions? Who needs that kind of variety?
Oh, wait. That's actually a GOOD thing.
If you're capable of completing the content, sure. There's plenty of posts here and elsewhere containing testimonials of being unable to beat T5 and Ex Primals though, so I think right now Second Coil gear is only in the hands of a very small minority of players. For everyone else, the Animus and Soldiery gear is really the only thing they have to look forward to.
If people want to nerf atma so that it drops 4x as often, then we might as well take the bosses in coil turns 6-9 and make them 1/4 as strong as what they are now.
Which, to be clear, seems like a terrible idea. But it would be appropriately balanced for what some want to change in atmas/animus.
This is the biggest issue with 2.2, so much of the new content is tied to Second Coil in some way. The hyped up Gerolt's Masterworks are just tome gear that needs Coil progression to unlock, Leviathan Ex was relegated to being a Coil stepping stone, etc. And yet there's still nothing to use that fancy Coil-tied gear for outside of Coil. It's really senseless. If you're capable of completing the content, sure. That doesn't make sense. The atma gathering stage doesn't actually improve your relic in any way, it's just prep work for the real grind that is the 13k mythology and FATE waiting game, and even at the maximum upgrade stage they will still always be weaker than the raid weapons of the patch. If people want to nerf atma so that it drops 4x as often, then we might as well take the bosses in coil turns 6-9 and make them 1/4 as strong as what they are now.

this post is an insult to anyone reading. Z.Z seriously, enough with the dam posts. they said they are doing adjustments. get over it. seriously.
The atma quests were SUPPOSED to be a time sink yet be easy to do. If you dont like it, get good and farm levi for your wep. if you cant do that then suck it up and farm. Everyone wants to play an MMO yet get everything handed to them on a silver spoon. You pay to play the game, not pay to win. so many people have that F2P MMO concept about a P2P MMO. they are NOT the same.
RNG grinds are a staple of F2P MMOs. Think you are a tad bit confused here sir.
I feel some of the complaints here are for the wrong reasons. RNG is RNG..whatever. But doing low level FATES and then easy books for a relic..that is just wrong. SE could have put epic boss fights for this, or given us our Fraction Leves back...or put something like Skirmish in. Actual NEW content instead of more reused contentI am not complaining about doing the atma itself..I've already done 2 sets in a few days and even if I haven't..honestly compared to mythic relic in FFXI this is nothing lol.
