    the thing is, CT and coil are very different
    the CT you basically go through whole thing and can choose from all the loot

    in coil if you cant beat the t7 you are limited to boots and ring or what ever drops there
    so yes it will speed up the initial gearing by giving your team the ability to drop 8 drops 2 weeks in row only by doing t6, but then if you still cant beat t7 you will get those boots and rings again :P
    also if you can beat t6-t8 now, you are getting what ? 3x2 drops + 2 sands ???? 8 ilvl110 items for party same as with the ct lockout, if you can beat t6-9 you are getting 4x2 + X sands so you get more then 8, or did i miss something ?

    the differnce would be
    - your team gears evenly
    - you will have to run coil multiple times because of RNG (more time spent in game)
    - you wont have to meet weekly limit because of buffer
    - you wont have to stick to static, you can teach others, run with others in pugs etc, noone have to be locked out, could even be better for community
    - everyone have to wait 11 weeks (2,5 ?? 2,8 ?? months) before getting to ilvl 110
    how far are we from 2.2 ? are there ppl with ilvl 110 now ? if so, when they got it ?
    - yes, there is the potential of selling ...

    Indeed there will be more welcoming points but not sure how receptive SE would be. Given their current strategy is to drag coil, doubt it will become CT style..

    Anyways I not sure if there are i110 around. But i107 i105 yes.

    105 would be nice. Coil should end though. Each time making new sets of dungeons no one can even access unless they did all the other ones first each time. It will get worse after each update

    they already have AF2 gear designs ready at the same time with high allagan and soldiery gear. Im guessing we can get those from ct2

    you only need to clear T5 to get into 2nd Coil, also Echo buff is there to let people catch up.

    You're being given gear that makes these contents bordering on trivial. At the moment, it's bordering on -impossible- to have your tank get One Shotted by Twintania's Death Sentence, because we just have So. Much. HP. You literally have to either not know the mechanic to die (As with most fights, this gives it a challenge) or you just have to be purposely trying to die.

    I cleared Twin after 2.1. I won't pretend I'm a 'top-player' by any streatch of the imagination. But I do think the content wall of previous raids was well-designed. And I feel like SE is only getting more clever with their mechanics.

    Twin actually got harder in 2.1 The changes to Virus and Rain of Death in that patch made Death Sentence much more deadly.

    If by "clever" you mean sadistic sure. That's the difference between Final Fantasy and other bosses in other games. Malboro, Cactuar, Tonberry, and Pandemonium are prime examples in the Final Fantasy universe when it comes to explaining it which is why they are loved and hated. Yet as far as Coil goes in FFXIV we have 0 tolerance mechanics and rotations that are not only demanding to memorize but happening within 5 seconds of each other which does not allow enough time to react to them for the most part.

    That sadistic nature was their charm in previous FF titles but unlike previous Final Fantasy titles we had alternatives to cheese the content. Farm max stats, weapons, summons, spells, Break Damage Limit, Break HP limit, and Ribbon. Luxuries we do not have here. Even the Limit Break system doesn't trivialize the overall fight except for ridding us of some stressful phases.

    It's nice that we can get echo to help progress in the story but as far as progression goes it's mainly - instead of /
