    When I played in FF 11 I had my RDM job using a sword and shield as well.

    I'd say every RDM used sword and board (or dual sword as /nin or /dnc) when they weren't in a party and forced to heal/haste/refresh. HAD to at least have the light and dark elemental staves or be booted by some parties.
