    2nd Job Predictions

    P.S. So I just wanted to clarify here; in theory all classes will obviously get a 2nd job. These jobs would need to have a few rules.
    1. Run on a different primary stat.
    2. Probably Have a different roll in a party.
    3. Apparently they will bend over backwards to doing strange things like making a tank class into a DPS job; so normal class rolls, as well as job roles, do not count for much of anything.

    I could see the possability that they make an additional job that has the same role but a different stat entirely, but almost sure not for the 2nd job. For example a gladiator becoming a Red Mage but still be a tank. It would be a tank that runs on their own equipment dependent on having equal intelligence and mind balance vs. vitality, would also have vastly different cross-class skills as well.

    As game designers they would need to make sure that the new job would not be an instant-win/complete and that the player would need to chose between the jobs to favor; like what we see between the scholar and summoner jobs.

    Martial Classes
    Archer
    Sniper or Ranger: DPS (Bard will be modified for Support job, big change like Warrior 2.1)
    Unlock - Rogue class.
    (Explanation: Depends if people want more pets or a straight up DPS job, could be either.)
    Gladiator
    Dark Knight: DPS (Twin blades)
    Unlock- with Thaumaturge
    Lancer
    I have no clue, but best wish; Bahamut-ist: support or tank dragon pet class.
    Unlock Arcanist
    Marauder
    Viking: DPS (Twin Hatchet/Axe class)
    Unlock- Rogue.
    Musketeer
    1st Support/Hybrid Corsair
    Unlock- ______?
    2nd DPS Gunner twin pistols
    Unlock- Rogue
    Pugilist
    Obviously some sort of tank, not sure of a Final Fantasy lore monk/pugilist tank job/class.
    Rogue
    1st DPS: Assassin
    Unlock- Archer
    2nd Tank Ninja
    Unlock- Pugilist
    (Explanation: Ninjas only resorted to assassination and combat as a last resort in real life. With the appearance of a twin blade wielding NPC in an assassin outfit, this leads me to believe that the rogue class's first class is going to be a DPS one and that this will be the assassin job. If they are still going to add a ninja job, it will need to be a different role, so that would leave support or tank. Honestly though it could be either but there will always be a higher demand for tanks in this game and if they make this a tank job, then that might fix the problem. P.S. In hindsight, I could totally see them using the assassin visual esthetics for the ninja job, which would make the ninja a DPS job.)

    Unlock, I don't know, perhaps a new magic class.

    Notes:
    I would like to see a Red Mage job somewhere in there. If anything at the moment I honestly think it will be a hybrid job for the Gladiator. RDMs do use shields occasionally and were very martial. If anything they would use the protect spell as their shield for tank-like actions; however I have no clue really on this.

    I love how you suggested Geomancer for Conjurer! And I agree 100% I have always thought Geomancer would be perfect since the lore is pretty much there for the class.

    There have been a few threads like this, and some even with posts detailing what people would like per job. And just to contribute, was made really quick so bear with it =p

    Archer -> Ranger (because what else?). Archer/Thief. DPS.
    Pugilist -> Dancer. Though I'd prefer Dancer to be off of thief class (for dual dagger like in FFXI). DPS/Support along the lines of Bard (dances to work like songs, different effects). Pugilist/Conjurer.
    Gladiator -> Red Mage. Soulstone removes enmity multiplier from attacks. GLD/THM (CNJ for other cross class). Would prefer if RDM came of a new class, say Fencer.
    Marauder -> Dark Knight. Soulstone removes enmity multiplier from attacks. MRD/THM (LNC or PGL for other cross class)
    Lancer -> Samurai (Yeah cry foul, Samurai used polearms too. Not just Katanas). LNC/GLD or MRD. Tank
    Conjurer -> Geomancer (Makes sense with the lore around CNJ in the class quests). Healer (or DPS if cures are changed to something else)
    Thaumaturge -> ???

    My 2nd and 3rd job predictions of the current classes would be

    Archer -> Ranger: Sustain DPS (Single target focused)
    Archer -> Sniper: Pure DPS (Single target focused)
    Arcanist -> Avatar: Pure DPS (Uses carbuncle as main pet. Summons the Primals as combo finishers. Primals are AoE focused.)
    Conjurer -> Geomancer: Support Healer (Gives spike shields to tanks)
    Conjurer -> Bishop: Hybrid Healer (Shields a lot and AoE Heal bursts with Prayers)
    Gladiator -> Fighter: Pure DPS (Dual-Wield. Single target focused)
    Lancer -> Dragonkin: Sustain DPS (Pet class. AoE capable)
    Lancer -> Templar: Balance Tank (Elemental Breaths for Single and AoE.)
    Marauder -> Viking: Sustain DPS 2H Broadsword instead of Axes (AoE capable).
    Marauder -> Berserker: Pure DPS 2H Greatsword (Single target focused.)
    Pugilist -> Dancer: Support DPS (combo finishers buff certain roles. Single target focused)

    I would be happy with anything which would be a lot more than nothing. But I'm afraid it is to soon and there is bound to be a hundred more threads started just like this before they even sit down to a drawing table. It's nice to dream tho.

    Considering we have so far a grand total of one class setting the precedent of two jobs sharing the same weapon it's a bit soon to be saying that we'll "always" have the same be true for other jobs.

    If you look at Arcanist/Summoner/Scholar you'd see that in fact only one of the jobs needs to match the initial classes weapon type, once the weapons start diverging into separate stats they become Arcanist/Summoner and Scholar exclusive.

    It wouldn't be too much of a jump for there to be a subtle shift in weapon type for other jobs to accompany the stat divergence.
