Actually the last phase is decided by the boss health, its always the same. If you LB as the boss shoots into the air at the last 20%, you will always kill him before the big bomb.

tl;dr Must have been horrible DPS if you had to down the last bomb. When I go, I LB the boss @ 20% over and done.

I have had groups where the combined weapon damage (the LB damage determiner) was not enough for the LB to kill the boss at this point. You need to know what the LB will output to do it at this time. If you know that the boss won't die, it is better to save it for the bomb itself. "Horrible DPS" is not really a fair assessment. It could just be that the group isn't extremely overgeared. There is a difference.

Had this happen Monday night. Got the LB off, and it looked like it was dead. Did his transition to bombs and then super bomb. As soon as he was able to be hit, he died to someones auto attack.
