Bahahahahah I remember that. However, I also do not miss when shout groups had this stupid mage requirement for Ifrit! Rawr! DRG only or go home! (Even when I mained WHM instead).

In a weird way, I remember when it was easier to teach people anything about the game. Like I was able to teach full groups United We Stand all the time. I tried to teach someone in DF half the time and we'd just end up dying anyway. It's also less fun for some reason a good majority.

Maybe in 1.0 people took this game less seriously, or maybe my memory is really horridly off. XD

I remember when dungeons allowed job swapping. Doing CC as DRG/WHM, switch to BRD/BLM for Chimera or tank for princess.

People in 1.0 definitely did take the game less seriously, except for a select few who managed to get tons of the best gear available. Otherwise, the strange gear mechanics allowing any classes to equip almost anything actually made equipping a character harder in my eyes. I remember the best gear being super expensive and by the time I beat United We Stand, I was on a level 50 character with only a few AF pieces. The rest of my visible gear was on or near 50, but the rest was only around level 38.

I was probably just "the scrub" back then because I never managed to do a single hard mode primal in 1.23, but I hardly think I was alone in being that way.

Eh, I never got to beat the super hard content cause I was too busy being a doormat XD, like Aurum Vale or Cutter's Cry or Garuda Hard. Or Ifrit Extreme. Not that I feel that I missed out. I did try Aurum Vale but, died horribly at Miser's Mistress. Did try Cutter's Cry but my LS couldn't get past Myrmiderp Princess. Garuda I didn't even try until the the day before the final save.

And I completely forgot about the job swapping o.O

However, I miss when you COULD TRADE with your friends or repair gear within dungeons if you had the materials and crafting job to do so. I remember trying to trade food with a friend at the beginning of ARR, and was very very confused as to why it wouldn't let me trade D:
