The real problem is that putting atma into fate grinding seems like an afterthought, as if SE was going to implement atma and forgot til the night before launch so they threw it in real fast with low chances of success and just shrugged.
I would love a system that took time so the Animus isn't a ridiculously easy to get as the zeniths but fate grinding is such poor game design. They could have added a new form of endgame to get it, they could have put it in dungeons, they could have given them as rewards for certain leves/quests or a million other ways.
But they rely so much on fates and that is the biggest development flaw in ffxiv thus far.
