SE gave away all my cool 1.0 stuff!

You know in every game, there are collectors items that are no longer available. It's a big "Thanks!" for those who played a game since the beginning of time!

So why is SE repeatedly giving away all of the cool stuff we earned in 1.0?

I made sure to do every single seasonal event thinking "This will be cool to have later on when they are unavailable!"

Bikini's, Pumpkin Heads, Samurai Heads and Now the Egg helms... if I didn't miss anything.

I already feel a strong sense of not being able to be unique... I mean we all wear the same clothes. (Glamour helps! Thanks!)

But there's not much left from 1.0 that could potentially remain exclusive. Can we please hold on to some of this stuff?

If it was from a one off event that was to never be repeated I'd understand, but a seasonal Easter event of course they will re use the same items.
Like any other MMO does, I mean wow has had the pumping heads in it for years and the bunny ears, why should something you done seasonly never be repeated

Seasonal event items always returned in FFXI, so it's no surprise they do the same here. There are some exclusive 1:0 items though, such as the Dalamud Horn etc.

christmas event 2010 - santa suit
christmas event 2011 - rendeer suit, but no santa suit (use the left-over mats from 2010 to craft one)

new year event 2011 - usagi kabuto
new year event 2012 - dragon kabuto, but no usagi kabuto (use the left-over mats from 2011 to craft one)

easter event 2011 - egg caps
easter event 2012 - egg rings, but no egg caps

summer event 2011 - swimsuits
summer event 2012 - Yukatas, but no swimsuits

So it is confusing for us 1.0 players that old seasonal gears show up again.

Well you have Asuran Armguards from FFXIII code, and The hermes shoes (forever sprint in cities) if you subscribed FFXI at the same time as FFXIV ver 1.0 came out.

The tumbler you mean, also that was only for EU players. NA didn't get that.

Event items were always like this in 11 as well... previous year's events were availible for purchase or re-questing, and then there was new stuff to earn. OUt of 1.0 "exclusives":

Dated equips: Most skins will appear eventually or already have.
Raven earrings & Dalamud Horn: Useless stats & minimal vanity.
Gobbue Mount: Sylph tribe variant pretty darned close.
Pre-order exlcusives: Such limited usefulness since they all stop working at level 10, none particularly all that great looking. The Hermes Shoes can be good if you have a ton of in town running around to do for the infinte sprint I guess...
Legacy Chocobo: Guess this is the last really "unique" thing left... and you can't use it as your Companion's barding since it's a separate mount.

Most of the extremely difficult to earn things in 1.0 were turned into entry level endgame in 2.0: Darklight, Relics, Primal weapons. The only thing left that made you special from 1.0 was the head start at leveling, and now everyone is 50 already so even that hardly matters. You are still a precious little snowflake, unfortunately you are in a blizzard and no one cares.
