They are using RNG to compensate for their failure to actually design a grand quest. RNG Fate grinding sucks, it's no secret and SE has been told many many many times by their PAYING playerbase it sucks. They don't seem to care, or they must have that one employee in the basement in charge of relic quests that everyone is afraid to fire! I can understand RNG to a point......but this is ridiculous and I have not even started mine yet. I honestly don't think I will because I do not have 5 hours a night to put into a game. I raid a couple nights a week, so I guess I will have to stick with that seeing it would probably take a year to finish this how things are now.
I dont mind having to grind to get my item But this instants is some BS, The Development team that wrote this code for these item drops needs to be fired. I spent 8hrs Straight last night in central thanalan for it Atma, Spent 20mins in Central Shroud WTH, then about 1hour in South Thanalan, Now im in Upper La Noscea been here for 4hrs and still counting, SO yeah this Need to be fixed, I spend time farm ALL HQ mats for 99x Lava toad legs and 99x Black Truffle Risotto so yeah
there no sense of progress and its very frustrating to do without some occasional reward feeling , i think i might give up on collecting it completely , not because its impossible to do or i wouldnt have the patience and time to do so ... because doing it feels boring , annoying anf frustrating after a certain timeframe and ill rather use my precious free time with games that entertain me and make me feel good about playing them , this random fate madness is the complete opposite of fun
FATE grinding isn't fun (which is why I don't do it to level up my classes), so I'm certainly not looking forward to doing this part of the quest when it's time.
But people complaining about RNG and it taking a long time to do when it hasn't even been 48 hours since the patch was released and there are already people running around with Atma weapons is simply silly.
Let's see if SE caves in to the complaints like they've done before. If they do it means that it's very likely that FFXIV will never have time consuming activities.
Having a community completely ignore something offered is the biggest complaint imaginable... I, for one, completely hated the idea process behind Relics; I WANTED one. IT may not have been openly complaining but whenever relics were mentioned the complaining came and it was pretty much unanimous. Having a community vocal about how stupid something is is better than sitting back and "accepting they would never get it." FFXI Relics were so incredibly dumb and everyone I knew thought the same thing. Now this time sink comes along. Why not give the Atmas from dungeons or something decently fun.
Time consuming without fun is something better left dead. I spend 6hrs with nothing to show doing something that's the furthest thing imaginable from fun. Yes, some people have atmas after 48hrs, some have spent a huge majority of that 48hrs and have gotten 2. That just expands how amazingly broken the drop rate is or how vague the quest details are. People have gone gold to gold on any and every FATE in the area with nothing to show, but then some out of blind stupid luck get it on 1 FATE. Do we have to attempt to last hit every single mob? Is there something that wasn't even hinted at in the quest aside from "participating while equipped with a zenith" like the quest stated. No one knows, probably not even most of the people with Atmas.FATE grinding isn't fun (which is why I don't do it to level up my classes), so I'm certainly not looking forward to doing this part of the quest when it's time.

Question becomes, after you completed this quest, do you have to redo it again for another weapon?
Personally, this seems to be a 1 time only quest as it doesn't have the name of the weapon in ( ). Like Relic Reborn ( Gae Bolg).
Though this may be frustrating for some, it looks to be a 1 and done quest. It's the Trials that you have to do every weapon for.
Oh, I won't even try to argue that it's fun, because it's not, but complaining that it's time consuming when the patch hasn't even been online for 48 hours is just stupid.Time consuming without fun is something better left dead. Fair assumption to make seeing how we can obtain more than a single piece of the same type of atma at a time.Question becomes, after you completed this quest, do you have to redo it again for another weapon?
