But getting the relic was a grind for currency first just like this one, you dont even know what you have to do after you finish grinding out these fates. So to me, they are both the same, you both have to grind and grind to get anywhere.
They were talking specifically about Animated Weapons, the Shard Dropper, you for whatever reason brought up Currency.
I brought it up because i am specifically talking about grinding, they bringing up animated weapons is irrelevant to talking about grinding, which was the initial argument, tell me getting your relic in FFXI was not a grind?
you need to go back and look at the first post you responded to, the initial argument was not about grinding. the initial argument was me refuting this statement "Time consuming, yes, hard, no.", specifically the word "no" in that statement.
I'm still kind of confused on the whole path to the relic. I know you start with a Zenith and begin a quest.
So, is it that you then have to do these Fates and get all these Atmas? Then after you have them, you upgrade your relic to Atma? Then after that have to save up 13,500 Myth to upgrade to Anima?
Can someone clarify?
after you get the Atma, you have to buy challenge books, each book costs 1500 myth to buy and you have to buy 9 books total. you don't spend 13,500 all at once. we don't know what all the challenges are yet though.I'm still kind of confused on the whole path to the relic. I know you start with a Zenith and begin a quest.

I take that as a no you didn't. That's all your statement tells me, as grinds in general are a major part of a MMO.
Comparing XI Relic as far as grind is pointless to ARR's. There are folks complaining about HRs grinding FATEs when in XI Progression took years to even get a usable weapon for its content.
I think you're both kind of making the same point. I think this quest line was a good attempt at making a grind, but not one that will take XI's amount of time. Is this a good or bad thing? Personally, I think everything in FFXI was too long of a grind (note, I played 3 years before Abyssea). Did ARR balance it better? That still needs to be seen, I think. However, complaining this much about a drop rate or whatever it is some people are pissed about is extreme. From my perspective, there seems to be enough to do from both sides of the fence.I take that as a no you didn't. That's all your statement tells me, as grinds in general are a major part of a MMO.

Dude, i don't have a problem with grinding in an MMO. I actually enjoy it. And no, I never got a relic but I did grind my but off to save up the currency to obtain one either by doing the content or farming to buy the currency before i had to quit. To me, there is no difference from me having to grind fates or grinding for currency, they're both the same. They're both relatively easy and repetitive. You guys like to bring up what happens after the grind to get the relic in ffxi, do we even know what we have to do after we finish grinding those fates?I take that as a no you didn't.
