You mean it's not handed down freely and I have to actually work for it? Nerf irelia...I mean...whatever.

We obviously have different definitions of work :/ Waiting in a spot for a fate to spawn whilest tabbing out, and having netflix running on half my screen while I run around spamming flash mindlessly doesn't really count as work to me. Just mind-numbing tedium I thought I'd gotten away from.... oh well, it is what it is. Let's not pretend it's hard though.
Edited to add:
Wow lots of people quoting me saying this is what players asked for. I, for one, did not ever ask for more fates (and I never would). I have no problem with a questline, or item taking a long time to get. Just because FFXI or older MMOs may have had mind-numbing grinds, or some other MMOs have worse grinds, doesn't make grinding fates for RNG loot a good idea. What most people (that I saw) were asking for was a fun and engaging open world. A reason to go out that wasn't boring, and would actually bring people together. Fates don't do that, never really have done that well. As I said it is what it is.. but it's not challenging. It's not what people asked for. It's just more of SE trying to force Fates down our throats. People aren't even grouping for these things for the most part. At least not on my server.

Wait...this sounds like...FFXI?!?!! You mean...what everyone wanted?! *gasp*We obviously have different definitions of work :/ Waiting in a spot for a fate to spawn whilest tabbing out, and having netflix running on half my screen while I run around spamming flash mindlessly doesn't really count as work to me. The irony is, the XIV community was so adamant the "FFXI crowd" is so small that SE would and should never listen to them, so no it's far from XI because even in XI you could proc 100% drop rate on those Atmas.
xD
Seriously though, people still don't understand the concept of keeping people busy until the next patch? They did this with LotA with the weekly lockout.

I just like that there are options. Don't want to farm FATE's? Ok, go do Leviathan. Don't want to do Leviathan? Ok, go do Masterworks. Don't want to do any of those? Farm T5. The amount of time actually end up spending will be about the same. Some of these are definitely harder than others, just less time-consuming. Some ways will be faster for some people depending on their schedule. The irony is, the XIV community was so adamant the "FFXI crowd" is so small that SE would and should never listen to them, so no it's far from XI because even in XI you could proc 100% drop rate on those Atmas.

Not to mention this is totally FFXI, pointing out one option that XI had in abyssea doesn't change the fact that everything else in FFXI was exactly the same, waiting around doing nothing until something pops then kill it and pray the RNG gods are on your side. FFXI at it's finest. These people asked for it, they got it. lol Get to work I say!!!!I just like that there are options. Don't want to farm FATE's? Ok, go do Leviathan. Don't want to do Leviathan? You don't wait for anything, all fates in a given area can drop the atma...
Also to all those complaining NO ONE is forcing you to do this, this is one of 3 ilvl100 weapons and its not even close to being the best in the game atm.
What's wrong with having something that takes time and effort to get? Not everything needs to be spoonfed.
Sorry, i'm not complaining, just laughing at the people raging that's all. I actually like it, I will definitely be working on these. At least read up/go see How it works...

A question concerning the ATMA items:
Do I Need all 12 items for one upgrade or is one enough? And if one is enough is there a difference in the upgraded weapon depending on which item i used (so 12 possible atma weapons per Job?)
Thanks for the answers
Thanks for the fast answer
