Let's be real, how many people choose to do the normal method for turn 2 rather than the enrage method? How likely is it for people not to take the route with the least amount of resistance which by the way people say they choose to do rather than "the archaic way of old school mmorpgs."
Pretty much this. Sooner or later your ganna hear people begging SE to make the echo buff permanent because of the "I don't got time for your sh*t" mentality and all the "this fight isn't challenging, it's just a fracking script, go play Dark Souls or something!" reasoning.Let's be real, how many people choose to do the normal method for turn 2 rather than the enrage method? I'm not gonna read through these 11 pages, because I'm just on my lunch break from work and don't have much time. But they DID say that players "NEED to try their best" during the first 3 minutes, which suggests that if players just stand idle for 3 minutes and then wipe just so they can receive their buffs, not a damn thing will happen when the try a 2nd time... ...no buffs for them. At least, that's what I gathered. If this buff can be applied to a character after 3 minutes of combat, whats to stop people from synchronizing their watches and saying "okay 3 minutes are up everyone wipe" and doing this 5 times?

My FC and I do (did) because we only had 2 healers at 50 at the time.Let's be real, how many people choose to do the normal method for turn 2 rather than the enrage method? The semi-pug that I run with now did enrage. Now, we choose which one we are going to do. Its really not that hard to remember a number order.
as to your remark about archaic old school mmorpgs. the gripe with the old school way (at least IMO and in my best understanding) was the useless timesink that a lot of stuff was circa 2000-2005. A lot of people don't want to do that any more, but that same group of people don't necessarily shy away from a challenge.

the path of least resistance is always accounted for. its an option, like everything in this game.Let's be real, how many people choose to do the normal method for turn 2 rather than the enrage method? My group still does it the original way. Yes, it's not the quickest, but from a moral standpoint we know it makes us better players, so we bite the bullet to put the extra work in. It's mostly just for self-satisfaction. I do agree though, the majority of the playerbase (of MMOs in general) want the safest, easiest route possible to maximize gains while minimizing work.Let's be real, how many people choose to do the normal method for turn 2 rather than the enrage method? Ah, I was referring to just the ADS fight at the end of the turn, but yes you're right. Not having to wait around for the last clock tick + blitzing the mini death stars at the beginning does make the whole turn a LOT faster. ^_^
