I hate the idea of Echo Buff. It should be part of some easy server not whole game.

Because Titan EX takes something like 6-8 minutes to complete, so you would spend twice that building echo buff.
Because Ifrit EX takes something like 6-8 minutes complete, so you would spend twice that building echo buff.
Because ____ takes less than 15 minutes to complete...
I'm sure most people would rather invest their time trying to complete it instead of investing time so that they can invest more time to beat a fight. And all the HP/Damage/Heals in the world wont keep landslide/upheaval from pushing you off the edge.

More damage = less room for player error because the fight will end before you were given the "usual" amount of time to mess up.

You can always have the personal satisfaction of having done it without the echo buff. If you let other people's victories with it get to you, that's a personal problem.

And like others have said, it's toggalable. So if you or your party doesn't want it, they can do that. If you don't want a party to use it, use the party finder explicitly looking for other like-minded individuals.

I don't understand this argument. Even with the buff, players still have to learn the fights so there will be hardly any "carrying" going on. Essentially, they'll just have their iLvls increased.

OP's point is completely moot.

You can STILL complete all of the content in its original difficulty after patch 2.2. Your EX Primals are not being nerfed in difficulty unless YOU want them to be nerfed. Your first attempt is always at its original difficulty; and the instance is repeatable. You can play it at 0% Echo buff as many times as you want.

Let's be real, how many people choose to do the normal method for turn 2 rather than the enrage method? How likely is it for people not to take the route with the least amount of resistance which by the way people say they choose to do rather than "the archaic way of old school mmorpgs."

My FC and I do (did) because we only had 2 healers at 50 at the time.

The semi-pug that I run with now did enrage. Now, we choose which one we are going to do. Its really not that hard to remember a number order.

as to your remark about archaic old school mmorpgs. the gripe with the old school way (at least IMO and in my best understanding) was the useless timesink that a lot of stuff was circa 2000-2005. A lot of people don't want to do that any more, but that same group of people don't necessarily shy away from a challenge.

The echo buff is only going to increase your HP by 1500 or so at i90 at the highest 30% increase (for non tanks) anything that Twintania had that would one shot people, will still one shot. The buff merely lets people deal damage much more quickly.
