7 black Mage, 1 healer in end game. Sounds balanced to me!

I want my BLM to tank turn 5!

Nerf the tanks (The only two in the game), buff a DPS so it can only take less Magic Damage... Makes sense.

Why would it be BLM that have access to spells like this? Since the point of the thread is realism, wouldn't WHM be the ones casting this powerful defensive spell (which they already have, Protect)....But Yoshi-P forbids anything that needs the players to use their brains to do, so we won't get any mechanics like this.
Or you know...the tank can pop a drastically improved magic potion to increase the "appropriate" magic defense...
-> But then the tanks have to spend gil to tank, much like Archers/Brds used to need to spend gil for damage....and people shouted UNFAIR! <-
And your point saying Yoshi-P not wanting players to need to use their brains does not make sense at all. Protect serves the exact same function as the spell you proposed, does it take skill to cast it?

Funny how I made the thread and I never said anything about realism. But people think it's about realism. I suppose it's the same effect the God Particle had on people. If my armor crack was taken this seriously... oh, you poor poor souls.
What is believably real is simply what you make out of it.Hi2u "Realistic Fantasy Worlds" - http://www.writing-world.com/sf/world.shtml
For those of you who has trouble separating yourself from "real" and "fantasy". Games in a "fantasy" setting are for all purposes, a "fantasy" book given computer graphics. It still needs to be "believably real".
Tank armors are imbued with aether to act as a form of barrier that causes disruption towards magic attacks which are in nature, aether based, hence magic defense.

Interesting. Please tell us how Twintania does magic damage for the majority and not physical damage. I'd love to hear that rotation of magic spells being cast. Like Waster, Fire, Thunder. Speak up, please.
No seriously. How is this thread still going?
EDIT: Oh yeah. People's need to attempt to sound superior. Please. Do continue.

Dude, check your earlier posts, you were talking about how it doesn't make sense tanks in metal armor are more resistant to magic than mages who can control magic. If you are not talking about "realism", then you are at least talking about logic, which still would not make sense why BLM would be casting protective spells.Interesting. And also, you post, people respond, and you want people to stop responding? If you don't want people to listen to you, you could just talk to the wall or something.

I'm pretty sure I didn't say anything about black mages casting protective spells... nor did I suggest that. However, it may interest you to know that Black Mages DO cast protective spells. Manaward and Manawall. Two of them. One protects against magic damage and the other against physical.Dude, check your earlier posts, you were talking about how it doesn't make sense tanks in metal armor are more resistant to magic than mages who can control magic. And here: http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Manaward
And while I could talk and not have anyone respond by simply speaking to a wall. You actually know what you're talking about as far as black mage is concerned and not pull information out of thin air.
So... where do we go from here?

Might as well get rid of Dragoons while at it.
