If the role bonus gave more myth it would be more encouraging. The bonus money that barely pays for a teleport/repairs and the useless seals are pathetic. The faster DF wait times were incentive enough for me, coupled with extra bonuses on roulette for being the role in need. I am surprised it didn't persuade more people. Maybe they can increase the role in need bonus to be an additional 100% more than the regular bonus for double rewards.
Every newbie DPS and heals(and I suppose also tanks but that takes away from my point) should get a pop up window with information on how enmity works. I think that'd be the best incentive. Lol
Stop treating tanks like crap and more people will tank. Every MMO out there (trinity system) has the same issue ffxiv does.

I disagree on the bonus myth part...
I usually cap myth at monday or tuesday... In my case, more myth as role bonus would have little to no effect (it would actually mean i cap them even faster and have to run less dungeons).
But you said it in your 2nd sentence... Money!
I mostly run a roulette every day for the 750 gil role bonus (plus the 1600 gil daily bonus). Now, if the role bonus was 5000 gil (or more...) i would run them all day every day...
whats your wait time? Because with english I'm only looking at like a 5 minute wait time for the queue, if that.
5 minutes is hardly a long time.
If there were achievements that rewarded mounts for queuing up as a tank I know I would queue up more to get the mount.
Might not be directly related to the duty finder issue, I keep seeing my fc members laugh whenever they see a garuda ex party when there's only 2 tanks spots left to fill in party finder, especially when the pf comment is typically hostile sounding, like they're convinced that that party finder group wont take off. I haven't been keeping up with tanking gear trends but apparently no tanks want those garuda rings if they have options? And like garuda hm, garuda ex requires the tanks to fully lead the party or everything just breaks apart. So I think we have:
-Non tanks writing off tanks' job 'difficulty' (just what i've been seeing, if you disagree with this it's fine)
-Content that requires the tanks to steer the boat or everything is just a pure mess and sinks fast
-The pressure to do the above perfectly is increased when paired with the average pf group's intentions
-Rewards that tanks might not be interested in
Personally, I want the fending garuda earrings because it's a free i90 acc for my pld/war and my myth/allagan is going to another job. But when I think about the above and my experience watching the tanks fight in garuda ex during my clears as a ranged dps, I find myself trying convince myself to let go of the ring (not your main job anymore, more hassle than its worth, etc etc) instead of convincing myself to try tanking for the ring.
I have a 50 PLD but I will say as easy as it was to level I have zero interest in tanking. I don't enjoy tanking and I don't enjoy dps and despite whatever rewards or incentives they add to try and get me to tank I can say with almost certainty it's not going to change that. I won't be playing a tank because I don't enjoy it and I have a feeling most of the player base is the same. The incentives or changes to tank to make it more fun 95% of players won't care, it didn't work in WoW with satchels that contained gold rare pets and mounts and expensive crafting materials or when they made threat a non issue so that tanks could focus more on damage or contribution. It would simply make those who already play tanks get more stuff and as much as people like stuff people want to enjoy playing a game the way they prefer more.

Garuda EX is an example of a fight that is just annoying for tanks. Almost every fail is the one of the tanks fault. You add in the mechanic of spiny plume, which is just annoying and not fun at all. "Here tank its your turn to go babysit the plume for a while". Doesn't make much sense.
If u want more players to play tanks u have to do the following:
1. If u see a bad tank and someone is flaming the bad tank, u kick the flamer and report him. Kicking that tank, joining flame or ragequitting reduces the amount of tank in pool.
2. If u have some power in fc and u have a member that compains about bad tank instead of helping him, u kick the complainer from fc.
3. If u are a pf party leader and someone is complaining about bad tank, u kick the complainer, not the tank, and help tank l2p.
4. Lift the insane gear requirements in pf for tanks, so that players with alt tanks can join.
5. Never ever complain about tank gear in df , kick anyone that complains. The only exception is when tank uses non-tank items to bypass df ilvl req.
