My apologies. Attack Power nonetheless seems a pointless stat if we're going to be splitting up offensive abilities into so many different traits.
Forgive me for not putting up with T0rin just because I don't like someone constantly condescending me while I'm being spoken to, it's clear I've already been made the bad guy here so why did you feel the need to jump in and make a quip if it isn't anything particularly helpful or for that matter clever?
I like this logic.
I'm going to start joining party's as a healer on my BLM, because I have Physick, why should they complain!
Actually it is helpful, he is explaining why you get such replies in game and on for forum, your attitude is poor tbh.

Because you know full well that how I'm speaking to people giving me crap is exactly how I interact with people in-game right? You're assuming a lot based on my few hours of just having been on this forum. I've been respectful to people in other threads and here that didn't immediately look down on me and make up excuses about my playstyle. T0rin assumed that because I said that 3 minuscule points of WPN damage didn't matter heavily when we don't need to be over-geared, that it meant that all weapon damage for every single weapon in the game meant nothing as well. There's plenty of other assumptions that have been made by others, but because someone voiced an opinion against what everyone else likes for not having even played another MMO, because I've only seen 2 or 3 other people even admit the fact that they've touched something besides XIV, that immediately I'm unaware or ignorant on every matter that could be pointed at.
Impartialness is critical to having any discussion or conversation, yet I see people jumping in here like children and making any clever retort or joke they can then leaving before they've even attempted to be mature or polite about the matter. If you're going to say my attitude was poor when I haven't even been saying anything like what others have, then get your prejudiced and biased opinions out of my thread. You're not interested in having a discussion whether or not I'm correct or incorrect, you're concerned with finding your jollies by antagonizing people over the internet.
I haven't thought very many were condescending besides you T0rin, my post limit has been hit as well no reason for me to stick around. Word it around again however you want, but how you've spoken to me isn't anything new, I saw other SMN threads where you acted the same way, the reasons might have been they were wrong, said something incorrect, or didn't phrase something right. Despite which one it was, you spoke to them the same way, I don't need to waste time here anymore.

I think you mistake condescension with someone simply informing you that you are wrong. What you're wanting to 'debate' has already been theorycrafted, discussed, mathed out and _proven_ to be bad. Nothing has changed that might affect that outcome, certainly not one more person entering the conversation.
3 points of weapon damage is not minuscule, it is very significant. You might not need to be overgeared for whatever content you are engaging in, but I can pretty much guarantee you are under-geared for the end-game content. Whether or not I played XI, WoW or any other MMO that may have had some inspiration for XIV, does not mean I know anything about XIV. Being an XI veteran is not a credential here for knowing what you are talking about. I could list my history with MMOs, but what would be the point? It doesn't make me an expert on anything to do with XIV, but my work in XIV does.
Your attitude is poor in that you have people coming to you, presenting good information founded in proven game data, yet you remain convinced that what you think is right. Your close-mindedness is what is reflecting poorly on you, not your history with XI or anything else you might want to bring to the discussion.
You're basically stating as truth, many things that the vast majority of the community has long known is wrong. And then you criticize the people that actually inform you of the reality of the situation, calling us condescending. I don't know what you expected, being as stubborn in your ideas. The reason you've received hostility in game for playing ACN, is because is sucks. Coming to the forum and ranting about crappy cross class skills isn't going to change that. And it's no big surprise that you received the same welcome here that you have in game, because your attitude about the whole thing is really crappy, and you have such a strong bias towards what you think is right, that you have no room for the truth.
Seems to also be based on weapon damage, and ACN weapons sadly have more DMG stat on them than you'd think. That said. . .
This whole thing is wrong. B4B and Raging Strikes have no effect on the potency of SW. SW is only affected by physical attack stats, including weapon damage.
I don't always see eye to eye with Torin but what he's said in this thread is correct-- you are doing less DPS as a level 90 arcanist than as a level 90 summoner.Forgive me for not putting up with T0rin just because I don't like someone constantly condescending me while I'm being spoken to, it's clear I've already been made the bad guy here so why did you feel the need to jump in and make a quip if it isn't anything particularly helpful or for that matter clever?
No matter how many cross-class skills you reference or how many different hypothetical scenarios you come up with about healing yourself, the bottom-line is that you will do less damage as an Arcanist. Everything in this game outside of specific mechanics (titan stomps, twintania aetherial profusion, etc) are avoidable. There is really no excuse for wanting to have the versatility of healing yourself when you can avoid getting hit-- mistakes should be fixed, not encouraged.
The frustrations (or hostility) you encounter is due to overlooking the fact that you lose a significant amount of DPS as an arcanist regardless of gear. Equipping the summoner job crystal alone is +20 int and +10 potency per every pet attack. Blood for Blood, internal release, and any other cross-class skill that can't be used on summoner does NOT make up for losing fester, spur, enkindle, and those stats.
There really isn't any argument to make: arcanist is a much worse source of DPS than summoner. By playing as one you are burdening every party you play with because you wish a base-class could be just as viable in the end-game.
Sure, you can play how you want to play, but it's understandable that some players who now feel burdened by this voluntarily choice when they are matched with you in duty-finder are a bit unhappy.
In my opinion the end-game duty-finder dungeons should require a job crystal to participate. That would end a lot of hostilities and wishful-thinking on both sides.
Dear OP do yourself AND the forums a favour and stop posting. Thank you.
